6 Best Places In Thailand Where You Can Enjoy Diving

Those who are interested in diving and its associated forms must have some idea about the several unique diving spaces that Thailand provides. The country has 349 diving sites available to the public on a budget, which is why a lot of divers head on to Thailand for the ultimate deep-sea adventures.

If you’re thinking about going to Thailand for a diving vacation, here are some of the coolest places you can check out.

1. Koh Tao

It takes only a short while to go from Chumphon to Koh Tao,which is why it attracts the maximum number of divers on this side of the world. The place has tailor-made diving spots and has a range of options available for varying budget needs. The place is quite popular with backpackers and tourists low on cash because it provides the best experiences for pretty low amounts of money.

2. Koh Lipe

This archipelago consists of 50 small individual islands and about 20 dive spots. The rock formations and boulders in the background of the coral reef add to the overall grace and beauty of this place. There are options available for divers of varying experience levels- from the new to the medium, to some exciting options for the more advanced.

3. Similan island/Khao Lak

The Similan islands are a favourite amongst veteran divers. The place is associated with liveaboard managers from Lak and Phuket.  You can access one of the day trips that run from Khao Lak to go to the various diving spots in the area.

4. Phi Phi

Phi Phi is one of Thailand’s biggest holiday destinations, and was also featured in the hit film “The Beach”. The white beaches, coves and blue waters of Phi Phi add significantly to its beauty, which attracts holiday goers to it. It is also an important diving spot, surrounded by a marine park with rugged limestone walls- the perfect backdrop to any dive site.

5. Krabi

The picturesque sceneries of this area in the southern part of Thailand are too gorgeous to be put into words. There are seven main islands scattered around Kho Poda- GK Island, Kho Dor, Kho Talu, Kho Yawasam, Kho Yawabon, Kho Ha and Kho Si. On this island, you will find more than 200 species of fish and over 80 varieties of coral life. The island’s diverse marine life is probably the biggest attraction for seasoned divers. Although there are no diving spots in this exact location, the diving spots of the Kho Phi Phi marine national park are only a 40-minute drive away.

6. Phuket

The most well-visited diving site in Thailand has got to be Phuket.  The various types of fishes and coral life that you can see in this place is absolutely mind-blowing. No wonder people flock to Phuket to experience marine scenery at its most beautiful.

Conclusion

Thailand has plenty of pretty places which double as romantic getaways and adventure sports zones. Probably this versatility is the reason why the tourism industry continues to thrive in the country.
