Perched by the river, Grand Copthorne Waterfront hotel features a unique waterfront local which is located within Singapore’s city centre near the Orchard Road shopping district.
The hotel celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and added a bumper crop of awards to its belt for double the jubilee.
While most Singaporeans would know of Grand Copthorne Waterfront as a five-star hotel popular for weddings and for its slew of F&B offerings, you may not know they offer serviced apartments too.
The La Residenza serviced suites in Grand Copthrone Waterfront hotel comprises of 24 serviced suites, which have high ceilings and come in studio, one- or two-bedroom units. We stayed at one of the one-bedroom units for two nights and here’s how the suite looks like:
La Residenza was the first serviced suite that was introduced within a hotel set-up in Singapore when it was first launched.
The primary difference is that each of the suites is designed for long-term stays and come equipped with amenities and facilities like a kitchenette, washing machine and dryer, separate living, dining and resting spaces.
In addition, the serviced suites come with hotel-inspired service, including daily housekeeping, room services and a friendly team of staff at your disposal. This makes it the perfect spot to make it your home base for expats who are temporarily posted to Singapore or for locals who just want to find a hassle-free, luxurious place to stay for the mid-term.
You would also have access to the other hotel facilities and amenities like the swimming pool and gym as well as the Club Lounge.
First of all, the La Residenza is located within a five-star hotel which kind of make it a “suite-within-a-suite”. You get the best of both worlds.
Additionally, the location in the Robertson Quay area is perfect for a long-term stay, with lots of expat communities and residences nearby.
Wander along the Singapore River
For peaceful spots near the Singapore River, venture to Robertson Quay for a hub of activities to enjoy either as an individual or with a family. The retail haven in Singapore, Orchard Road, is also just a short stride away.
For a more local living experience, one of Singapore’s oldest housing estates, Tiong Bahru is nearby. It is now evolving into a hipster enclave, alongside traditional markets and eateries.
Walkable hotspots:
• Robertson Quay (15 mins)
• Orchard Road (24 mins)
• Clarke Quay (26 mins)
• Chinatown (27 mins)
• Boat Quay (27 mins)
• Raffles Place (30 mins)
Transport links:
• Hotel Shuttle Bus (0 mins)
• Outram Park MRT Station (18 mins)
• Tiong Bahru MRT Station (20 mins)
• Clarke Quay MRT (21 mins)

The hotel does not promote the La Residenza serviced suites much to the general public as the occupancy is always high and sells by itself through corporate partnerships. If you are interested to make a reservation, details are available on the official website.
