Experience Tony Stark’s smart home at Marina Square’s Food x Tech Festival with Google

Iron Man’s arc in the Marvel Cinematic Universe may be over, but Tony Stark’s legacy lives on. Though most of us don’t have his brains, the brains at Google have done the work for us. With smart home technology becoming more and more advanced, you might just get your chance to have a taste of the genius-billionaire-playboy-philanthropist life.

From 10 to 14 July 2019, Marina Square brings you a glimpse of the smart future. As part of their Food x Tech Festival, the 4,500 square-feet Central Atrium will be hosting an exhibit called #MadeByGoogle: The Helpful Home.

Check out these features at the event that will take you into the world of Stark Industries:

Google’s smart home experience

Visitors will not only learn more about Google’s new hardware products and how they can enhance food experiences at home and on the go, but will also be able to interact with them first-hand in simulated living room and kitchen settings.

Like Stark’s J.A.R.V.I.S., you can instruct your Google Assistant to set reminders, play songs and videos, control your lights, aircons, TVs, and other smart home devices—all with just your voice!

Google Nest Hub demonstration

Marina Square is even giving away 1,000 free McDonald’s Vanilla Cones, from now till 14 July, to visitors who download the Marina Square App and interact with any Google device at the event.

Cooking without books

Over the weekend, 13 & 14 July, put your culinary skills to the test (without a recipe book) and go hands-free with the new Google Nest Hub.

Instruct your Google Assistant to find recipes and view them on your Google Nest Hub screen

We witnessed a dumpling cook-off, where the aspiring chefs followed a how-to video on the Google Nest Hub and had to use only their voices to control the video playback.

There will be 10 cook-off challenges a day (each lasting 30 minutes) from 12pm – 9pm on 13 & 14 July. Enter to win attractive prizes like the Google Home Mini and more!

High-tech image recognition

There’s a (highly Instagrammable) zone for the Google Pixel, where you can learn more about its many features, including an AR Mode for walking navigation in Google Maps and the image recognition app Google Lens.

Google Lens not only translates text through the camera, but also provides Stark-esque image recognition that can help you find an outfit you liked, worn by a stranger in the street. It’s like the Google Reverse Image Search, but in real life.
