Vegetarians can now look forward to more meat-free options at The Soup Spoon for the whole of next week. Quorn and homegrown food and beverage chain The Soup Spoon have collaborated to launch nine exclusive meat-free soups to support sustainable plant-based diets as part of the 2nd World Meat-free Week, happening 17 to 23 June.
Businesses are feeling the pressure to meet demand for more meat-free food options, as consumers wise up to the health and environmental benefits of vegetarianism and veganism.
The six limited-edition meat-free soups by The Soup Spoon and Quorn are inspired by the cuisines from various cultures around the world. Additionally, The Soup Spoon has revamped three of its popular classics into meat-free versions by incorporating various Quorn products.
These are the World Meat-free Week soups:
Sumo-Style Nabe
Buttery Tikka Masala
Budae Jjigae
Konnyaku Jaga Wasabi Stew
Italian-Style Cacciatore
Moroccan-Style Tagine
SG Ragout
Tokyo-Style Stew
Hungarian-Style Goulash
“As Singaporeans become conscious in choosing healthier and more sustainable dietary options, our partnership with The Soup Spoon will provide more great-tasting, meat-free alternatives. The new series of hearty and delicious soups are great interpretations of popular everyday meals that are also great alternative protein choices,” said Monique Suryokusumo, Vice President of Marketing in Asia, Quorn.
“We are always looking to add more meaningful options and variety to our range of soups that will appeal to our customers,” said Anna Lim, Executive Director, The Soup Spoon.
From 4 June to 25 July 2019, consumers will be given a “Choose Good” Challenge” stamp card at any The Soup Spoon outlet (with the exception of Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, KidZania, and Nanyang Technological University) when they purchase any meat-free soup. Each completed stamp card (with 8 valid stamps) entitles the consumer to one free regular-sized soup from the meat-free range.
Meat-free versions of three selected The Soup Spoon mainstay soups will be available in Take-Home Soup Packs, available from 4 June to 25 July 2019. These creative meat-free interpretations are said to taste just as hearty as their original versions, and are available on these dates: Tokyo-Style Stew (10th June and 1st July), Hungarian-Style Goulash (17th June and 8th July) and SG Ragout (24th June and 15th July).
The Buttery Tikka Masala, Sumo-Style Nabe and Budae Jjigae Korean Stew are already being served at regular The Soup Spoon outlets.
