Razer to move to its new Southeast Asia Headquarters in one-north Singapore

Razer announces its plan for a long-term lease for its Southeast Asia headquarters based in the technology and media hub in Singapore.

The company is expected to move to its new facility by 2020.

Razer is one of the leading gaming brands in the world. The plan to move to a new headquarter only highlights the company’s growth in the gaming industry. Along with it, gamers around the world are expected to grow in numbers from 2.35 billion in 2018 to 2.76 billion by 2021, according to Newzoo Global Games Market Report.

Razer believes that its strategic location in Singapore is perfect for the growing gamers population in Southeast Asia.

Razer is now the preferred monetisation platform for gaming and content companies who are seeking to expand their global presence. This is proven through the recent Razer Gold partnership with PUBG Mobile, Nexon America and Webzen. Razer Pay is also now one of the largest offline-to-online digital payments in Southeast Asia. It has an extensive payment network through retails stores such as Starbucks and 7-Eleven. Razer Pay Singapore is anticipated to launch in the first quarter of 2019 and will start to roll out to the rest of Southeast Asia.

The new Singapore headquarters will have a floor area of 19,300 square meters in a seven-story building and will be featuring the company’s signature design elements.

Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO, said, “We are excited to announce our new home for Razer employees and the community in the region.

“The move also presents our support for the Singaporean government in its efforts of developing the top location for technological innovation and attracting strong technology talent pool.

“This is an exciting time for us as we continue to advance our operations on the back of the robust growth of the esports and gaming markets across the world.”

Singapore ranked 1st in Asia-Pacific and 2nd among the top 10 digital-competitive countries in the IMD World Digital Competitiveness Ranking 2018 compiled and published by the International Institute of Management Development.
