Sunday Bedding, a new Singaporean bedding brand, will make its debut online on 9 November. Founded by Alex Fan and Clara Teo, Sunday Bedding aims to bridge the disconnect between individual sleeping habits and the wealth of bedding options available. The sheet sets are designed to create the ideal sleeping environment based on an understanding of sleeping habits and preferences. Sunday Bedding aims to make it easier for consumers to find the perfect set of sheets.
Sunday Bedding will first launch with two types of textiles, cotton sateen and bamboo sateen. Chosen after extensive experimenting, these strike the best balance between comfort, durability and environmental sustainability to ensure one gets the best sleep possible.
There are many factors that goes into quality bed sheets, including material, thread count, weave and the processing of the fabric. To ensure the best balance between softness and durability, Sunday Bedding’s sheets are between the 300 to 400 thread count range.
Both textiles are designed for maximum comfort and durability via proprietary technology. Sunday Bedding’s bamboo sateen sheets are made from bamboo trees that are sustainably harvested and pesticide-free, which offers a softer feel compared to normal bamboo fabric. Sateen was also chosen as the weave for both, mimicking silk’s luxurious sheen and feel, without the high cost.
Making the bed can now be a fuss-free affair in the morning. Proprietary technology allows Sunday Bedding’s sheets to remain wrinkle-free, and keeps formaldehyde levels below industry standards.
While the brand will launch online with two types of materials, there are plans to expand the range of products. In 2019, customers can look forward to more materials such as linen, organic cotton, and even down comforters with different amounts of filling in each half for couples who prefer to sleep under different temperatures.
Sunday Bedding will celebrate its launch with a pop-up at S L O W H O U S E from 10 to 11 November. Modelled after lazy Sunday mornings, you can look forward to a linen spray making class hosted by Bella Koh, and coffee appreciation workshops led by Papa Palheta. A complimentary embroidery service will also be provided for guests that make purchases during the event. You can register to attend the pop-up here.
Sheet sets are priced starting from SGD218 and will be available for sale during the pop-up and online from 9 November at www.sundaybedding.com.
