SO Sofitel Singapore Unveils New Destination Rooftop Cocktail Bar 1972
Travel back in time with SO Sofitel Singapore as it unveils its spanking new rooftop bar – 1972.
Named after the year in which the hotel’s iconic neo-classical was built in, the destination rooftop cocktail bar is where old charm meets tropical chic.
Drawing inspiration from the cosmopolitan character and tropical essence of Singapore, the newly unveiled bar reveals an exclusive and specially curated collection of contemporary equatorial cocktails befitting our local climate.
Here’s why there is no better time than now to revel in some cocktail-slinging time amidst your favourite company at 1927.
Bespoke cocktails for even the most discerning of palates
Night revellers are in for a treat as 1927 boasts of a myriad of old-world recipes with modern mixology techniques.
This brings a contemporary touch to yesteryear favourites, with the use of local ingredients inspired from our tropical climate and the rich history of the heritage-listed building.
The specially curated menu reflects the evolution of the tropical cocktail since the ‘Golden Era’ of the 1920s and 1930s, while being categorised into three broad collections: Equatorial Classics (1930s-50s), Contemporary Classics (late 1990s-2000s) and Contemporary Equatorial (house signatures).
Traditional recipes in the Equatorial Classic and Contemporary Classic collections are re-engineered with contemporary flair, while the Contemporary Equatorial collection, exclusive to 1927, is crafted with a divine pairing of fine spirits, aromatic house-made bitters, premium liqueurs and sodas.
If you are a fan of a sweet-tasting yet zesty tipple, Hashtag Frosé is the way to roll. Amongst other crowd-pleasers, Tiki Time Bomb (S$22) and Beet Me Up Scotty (S$23) are not to be missed for those with an intrepid palate.
Further, indulge in some gourmet bar bites as you throw back your favourite libation or nightcap. 1927 features an exquisite menu pairing selection with dishes designed to enhance the flavours of the cocktails including Portobello Carpaccio (S$14), Snapper Ceviche ($15) and more.
Urban-chic vista for every occasion
The charismatic rooftop lounge area sports a contemporary look, while exuding old-world charm with its custom-made signature sofas and sophisticated furniture.
Between sporting dashes of tropical chic and adorned with botanical elements, 1972 offers nothing short of a rejuvenating respite after a hard day’s work.
It is little surprise night revellers would take to this watering hole like a moth to a flame.
Guests can luxuriate on the laid-back loungers awash in sunlight and fabric-swathed cabanas, or take a dip in the refurbished infinity pool that offers city skyline views.
The patio is also equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology, including an 8-feet ultra large screen with projector and modern audio systems, transforming the area into a cutting-edge event space.
Whether is it for corporate events, pool parties or fabulous launches, this bespoke cocktail bar surely got you covered.
