Cartoon Network’s hit series We Bare Bears has a special surprise for Singapore viewers on National Day. The city’s tourism mascot, the Merlion, will make an unexpected appearance in the Asian premiere of a new episode titled “Lil’ Squid” on August 9.
The episode follows the three baby bear brothers on an adventure, as they build a submarine and explore the depths of an aquarium to reunite a lost squid with his family.
The Merlion’s cameo the show’s creator, Daniel Chong, visited Singapore last year to front the Imagination Studios workshop, a local initiative by Cartoon Network to inspire creativity among kids. Mr Chong is based in Burbank, California, but his parents are Singaporean immigrants to the United States.
Cartoon Network is available on SingTel TV CH226 and Starhub TV CH316, as well as on the Cartoon Network Watch and Play app.
