Shop Till You Drop: Peninsula Plaza Mall Review – cheap bargains and deals!

Previously, we introduced a few malls in the City Hall area including The Adelphi and Capitol Piazza. Next up on the list – Peninsula Plaza! This mall is situated between the 2 aforementioned malls and is hard to miss.

Food Options: 3/5

There aren’t many food options in the mall but if you venture around you will find a few small eateries here and there. These little eateries are unique in the sense that they feature Burmese food, though!

Most of the eateries can be found in the Plaza’s basement.

Uniqueness: 4/5

One thing that intrigued me was how many shops were actually little supermarts selling fresh vegetables, food and groceries such as the shop above. There are many of such shops on each floor and as you walk past them, you can get a whiff of the rich spices and produce that they sell!

Some of these shops also extend their goods variety to fresh flowers and bouquets.

There is also a huge Bata here which spans 2 floors.

Fun Fact! Peninsula Plaza is commonly referred to as Singapore’s “Little Burma” as many shops and stallholders are Burmese-based/Burmese.

Tenant Mix: 4/5

The mall is made up of individual shops that sell everything from luggages to cheap makeup to offering services such as travel agencies and maid agencies.

If you are willing to walk around and explore, I’m sure you’ll see or find something that catches your eye!

Peninsula Plaza is located at 111, North Bridge Road, Singapore 179098.

It is easy to access Peninsula Plaza via MRT or by bus.

By MRT:

Take Exit B and walk along the sheltered, straight pathway along North Bridge Road down to The Adelphi.

By Bus:

There are two bus stops located along the pathway stated above and here are the buses you can take:

Opposite Peninsula Plaza (04168): 32, 51, 63, 80, 195, 851, 961, 961C

St. Andrew’s Cathedral (04167): 1N, 2N, 3N, 4N, 5N, 6N, 61, 124, 145, 166, 174, 174e, 197, NR1, NR2, NR5, NR6, NR7, NR8

Conclusion

This mall may not be the trendiest or most aesthetic but it is pretty unique in the sense that the shops sell products that mostly can’t be found in coventional Singapore malls. Furthermore, most of them are selling at cheap or extremely reasonable prices and purchases here won’t burn a hole in your pocket. If you’re around the area, why not drop by and give Peninsula Plaza a chance?
