In Switzerland, Läderach has stood for top-quality, hand-made swiss chocolate specialities since 1962. It is consistently ranked among the top chocolate brands in Switzerland and is currently ranked number 3 on Ranker.com for top swiss chocolate brands.
This December, Läderach retails in Singapore via a one month pop-up at Takashimaya food hall. Renowned throughout Europe for their exquisite pralines and fresh chocolate slabs, Läderach Swiss Chocolatier will be bringing a small selection of their best selling pralines and fresh chocolate slabs to Singapore from 4 to 25 December.
Founded in 1962, Läderach is located in the picturesque canton of Glarus, Switzerland. Today, the chocolatier has 65 boutiques across Switzerland, Germany, the Middle East and Asia. This December’s pop-up will be the chocolatier’s first presence in Southeast Asia.
Some samples were sent to us to try:
The packaging is exquisite and the chocolate tastes just as good. I love praline and the nut and chocolate combination by Läderach gives the right crunch. If you are shopping for chocolate as presents for the festive year end, Läderach is a good choice.
The headquarters of Läderach, which employs around 500 people, is in the canton of Glarus, Switzerland. Unlike larger global brands which may outsource their productions, Läderach manufactures various chocolate masses themselves at their production site in Bilten. In this way, they are one of the few suppliers to guarantee continuous sustainable quality – from the cocoa bean to the finished end product.
“Top quality from the cocoa bean to the chocolate shop” is Läderach’s motto.
Läderach is brought into Singapore by an undergraduate at Singapore Management University, Shawn Hoe, the second generation owner of Royal Insignia, a luxury gift company that counts amongst its clientele members of royal families and governments from around the world.
During a visit to a family friend in Abu Dhabi, Shawn was served strips of Läderach’s fresh chocolate slabs. One bite and Shawn was hooked. Later he found out that his family friend, who happens to be the exclusive distributor of Rolex in Abu Dhabi, knew the Läderach family. A few phone calls later and plans were drawn up for a Läderach pop-up in Singapore.
