The Great LEGO Race: World’s First LEGO Virtual Roller Coaster

LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort announced on November 22, 2017 at Iskandar, Puteri the opening of ‘The Great LEGO Race’ – world’s first LEGO Virtual Reality Roller Coaster developed in partnership with Samsung.

Get ready to embark the amazing world of LEGO becoming reality! The Great LEGO Race will expand and awaken your creative imagination. Suitable for children six years old and up, The Great Lego Race offers a fun roller coaster experience that can be ridden with or without VR headset. It is driven by Trendsetter, Pharaoh, Surfer Girl, Wizard and Pirate Captain, and other popular LEGO minifigures with a rocket-powered surfboard and a scooter fueled by espresso.

General Manager of LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort Kurt Stocks quoted, “Inspired by the way kids play with LEGO toys at home, The Great LEGO Race virtual reality roller coaster ride is designed to let riders enter an imaginary world made entirely from LEGO bricks, featuring a host of different themes and fun LEGO characters.” Stocks believes this is a premier family destination where families can enjoy quality bonding time together that extends the LEGO bricks experience from home to park through an immersive environment.

At the entrance, guests are welcomed with a very colorful and lively vibe. They can see their competitor beyond the TV screen ready for action on a four-person roller coaster vehicle. Guests don VR headset to experience the fun-filled and exciting roller coaster race full of twists and turns on LEGOLAND.

Mr. Kim Liew, Head of IT & Mobile Business of Samsung Malaysia Electronics also said, “Focus on setting and exceeding the standard of VR experience making them more accessible and delivering high quality, we are honoured to be a launching partner of LEGOLAND, where the beauty of this partnership allows us to push the boundaries of what is possible, bring the roller coaster to life for children and adult alike, and capture their imagination. Guests can now be immersed into a completely new universe while riding a roller coaster, powered by Samsung VR Device.”

LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort is committed in making every visit to the park fresh and exciting to the guests. “Last year, we launched our LEGO NINJAGO The Ride, a fully immersive 4D ride that enables guests to do as ninjas do and launch fireballs, lightning, shockwaves or ice with hand movements. We are extremely happy to end the year on a high note, not only to this launch but also with a new addition to the park that we can’t wait to share with everyone.” Kurt Stocks added.

The Great LEGO Race ride at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort is now open for everyone to enjoy. It will also be present in LEGOLAND Florida Resort and LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort in 2018. For more information on promotion and activities, visit www.legoland.com.my.
