The Daily Scoop celebrates 13th Anniversary with 13 fresh and funky flavours

After opening their first brick and mortar store in 2004, The Daily Scoop now has 4 branches all over sunny Singapore.

The owner, Ms Melissa Phey (seen above), started creating her own ice cream after tasting a strawberry ice cream that tasted like strawberry milk.

Known for their quirkiness, The Daily Scoop has 22 ice cream flavours including Avocado, Cashew Caramel and Mao Shan Wang durian. The ice cream does not contain colouring or flavouring and is hand-churned daily in stores.

13 years later, they are about to launch 13 more.

The first flavour to be released is the Miso Sesame Brittle (seen above). Although its name sounds odd, do not worry as it does not taste like miso soup or sesame paste.

It is my favourite flavour because of the delicious brittle that gives off a nutty, caramelised taste.

They also have flavours which contain alcohol such as the Yuzu Sapporo, Pineapple Rum Ripple and Mulled Wine and Berries (seen above).

The Yuzu Sapporo contains Sapporo beer which I can definitely taste. I felt guilt-free indulging in it as it is a dairy free sorbet.

The second sorbet, the Midnight Sorbet (seen above), is made with 65% Malagos chocolate (seen below) and a shot of Liberty coffee espresso.

Similar to regular dairy chocolate, the dairy-free chocolate sorbet has a rich chocolate taste, perfect to satisfy any chocolate craving.

For the health conscious, they have the Choc Mint which is sugar-free. Most mint ice creams do not have a strong mint taste, but this was very refreshing.

The flavours will be available for 2 weeks after their release. Some flavours might be permanently available depending on demand, so be sure to let them know.

Each scoop is priced at $3.80 and the premium flavours (sorbet and sugar-free) are $5.30.

If these flavours still do not interest you, stay tuned as The Daily Scoop will be releasing new flavours for Halloween and Christmas. They will also be releasing crepes (seen below) soon.

The Daily Scoop has 4 outlets located at #01-78 Chip Bee Gardens, S278115, #01-05 Sembawang Cottage, S758382, #01-03 School Of The Arts Singapore and #01-04 Clementi Arcade. The Clementi Arcade branch is still under renovation. You can visit their website for more details.
