SilkAir, which is Asia’s most awarded regional airline has recently unveiled the arrival of its first Boeing 737 MAX 8.
As the regional wing of Singapore Airlines marked a significant milestone in their journey with the new aircraft, it is set to bring you a new joy of flying.
Simply relish the revamped look in the new SilkAir MAX 8, which comes replete with an enhanced Business Class, refreshed cabin look as well as an improvised SilkAir Studio.
Whether you’re a frequent traveller or bitten by the travel bug of late, here’s what you can’t miss on the new SilkAir Max 8.
From occasional travellers to those who fly fairly often, there is something for everyone onboard the MAX 8 aircraft.
Aside from featuring an enhanced Business Class, it comes with a new seat configuration of 156 seats – 12 Business Class seats and 144 Economy Class seats.
Aside that, the cabin look of the Economy Class seats has been elevated with elegant touches and a more ergonomic design. The seats now come in two refined colours; aqua and light grey.
As SilkAir places its utmost priority in achieving comfort and convenience for all its passengers, these seats are also fitted with seat-back tables, phone holders as well as personal in-seat USB charging ports.
As such, the experience onboard simply cannot get any more hands-free and even more so with SilkAir‘s signature in-flight entertainment service, SilkAir Studio.
Rest assured if you are worried that the movie titles are not updated as this extensive entertainment service has been upgraded to ensure that the latest blockbusters are available.
Simply take your pick from a smorgasbord of exciting blockbuster hits, Hollywood and international movies, alongside 40 television shows and chart-topping music.
Likewise, when it comes to culinary choices onboard, there is no lack of options for you to choose from. Easily be spoilt for choice, especially with all-time favourites such as Singapore Nyonya Laksa, Chicken Caesar Sandwich served with Caesar Salad, Mee Soto Ayam and many more.
Come October 30, the MAX 8 will be making its inaugural flight to Hiroshima, Japan. This charming city on Honshu Island in Japan is also the first Japanese destination that SilkAir has added to its network.
There will be a return flight service running thrice a week; with the new route serving as the only non-stop service between Hiroshima and Singapore. Not only does this provide travellers greater connectivity from Japan to Singapore, the connectivity extends towards the rest of the region too.
Now that passengers can fly non-stop between Hiroshima and Singapore, it certainly leaves you more time to enjoy this spellbinding city the next time you are in Japan.
Foodies will also rejoice as the new route will see the introduction of Japanese cuisine so your palate travels to Japan even before you touch down in this captivating country. Amongst these dishes, some are Chicken Curry Don and Omu Rice you bet egg-lovers can’t resist.
By the end of this year, two more MAX 8s are also slated to be delivered with another 34 on order. Further, the new fleet of aircraft will be headed towards other longer haul destinations in the network, such as Cairns, Darwin, Kathmandu, Hyderabad and Bangalore. Doesn’t this sound exhilarating?
When it comes to Business Class, there is even greater joy in flying, especially when passengers here can enjoy a freshly brewed cup of gourmet coffee from the world-renowned illycaffè – even while onboard.
Coffee aside, the first thing you would notice about the revamped look is the enhanced personal space (with a 25$ increase in seat pitch from 39″ to 49″) as well as additional seat recline. Talk about extra comfort while you engross yourself in a movie or simply tune into soothing music while onboard.
In fact, the entire aircraft is designed for maximum relaxation, putting passengers at ease with its new modern sculpted sidewalls and window reveals. Besides, the LED lighting incorporated into the design of the aircraft further elevates the sense of spaciousness for passengers.
There is even a convenient side pocket for easily accessible personal storage and of course, charging points you cannot live without. Passengers in the Business Class can will find a USB and 3-pin charging port to keep their devices fully charged throughout the flight.
SilkAir is undoubtedly exemplary in its thoughtfulness towards its customers, ensuring nothing but joy when you are flying with them.
In light of the MAX 8 arrival, it is bound to take SilkAir to greater heights as it brings its customers access to new and exciting destinations.
As remarked by the Chief Executive of SilkAir, Mr. Foo Chai Woo, this addition would pave the way for a new phase of growth while providing its customers a great joy in flying. We could not agree more with this as we are waiting for its inaugural flight on October 30 with bated breath.
