Japanese comedian, Piko Taro who shot to fame last year for his Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen viral song on YouTube, has tied the knot with his swimsuit model girlfriend.
The 44-year-old, whose real name is Daimaou Kosaka, has married 29-year-old Japanese model Hitomi Yasueda, Japanese media SoraNews24 portal reported.
The couple, who dated for four years before tying the knot, registered their marriage on August 3 as the numbers 8 and 3 read “Yassan,” a nickname he gave her.
“I was attracted to the kindness, earnestness, sadness and strength of spirit that she showed when we talked,” he told Japanese media.
Kosaka gained international fame for his viral hit song Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen.
The song was subsequently recognised by Guinness World Records as the shortest song to enter the Billboard Hot 100 chart, Japanese media Kyodo News reported.
His popularity has seen him collaborate with South Korean rapper Psy and American singer Justin Bieber.
