Aloha Poké is more than a Poké place with must-try Tiki cocktails and Hawaiian snacks

What crosses your mind when you think of tropical paradise – Hawaii?

In Singapore, Aloha Poké is easily the first thought that comes to your mind. This casual dining outlet – now an absolute favourite amongst the working crowd – first arrived onto our shores two years back.

Since its first outlet at Amoy Street, foodies have found themselves a gem that is here to stay. You will also find out why it is more than a place to get your Poké fix.

Aloha Baked Wings (available only in the Dinner Menu at Amoy St), S$8 and S$15 for 6 and 12 pieces respectively.

Any foodie’s all time favourites at Aloha Poké

Known for its signature Poké bowls, the restaurant has earned its spot as the go-to spot for a satisfying bowl of goodness. Even health-conscious foodies would not be able to resist the fresh-tasting bowls of seasoned Poké.

Depending on your preference, you can choose from three choices of Original, Spicy or Wasabi Mayo poké served alongside your rice and salad. When lunch time comes, you can be sure of the snaking queues at its outlet for a guilt-free yet toothsome treat.

At Aloha Poké’s 2nd Anniversary, we managed to catch a glimpse of how the ingredients were prepared. The Corporate Chef Michael Rahardjo displayed his finesse in the preparation of tartare, which was served to us right off the reel.

One of the founders behind this first-of-its-kind Hawaiian food concept, John Chen, also shared that fresh ingredients are delivered to the outlets daily. The restaurant takes utmost care in ensuring that only the freshest food are served to diners as the freshness of the seafood is integral to the authentic taste of Hawaiian Poké.

Imagine having your favourite Poké Kueh Pie Tee-style. Well, imagine no more as Aloha Poké marries two of your favourite food together in a mouth-watering unison of savoury poké and crunchy Kueh Pie Tee shells.

Poké Pòk (available only in the Dinner Menu at Amoy St), S$8 for 2 pieces.

Aloha Poké also puts its own spin on local classic, Tau Pok by filling it with fresh-tasting poké. This pairing is truly a match made in tropical heaven. Why didn’t anyone think of it earlier?

Aloha Poké at Amoy Street transforms into a Tiki Bar

Once happy hour strikes, Aloha Poké transforms into a Hawaiian Tiki Bar offering a special Tiki Bar menu for all night revellers. There is even a full dinner menu for you to savour popular Hawaiian snacks such as Musubi or Hawaiian classics like Kalua Pig Burrito.

Kalua Pig Burrito(available only in the Dinner Menu at Amoy St), S$18.
Musubi (available only in the Dinner Menu at Amoy St), S$11 for 6 pieces of caramelised spam sushi.

Now there are more reason for you to sip onto tropical tipples as you enjoy your well-loved Poké bowls. Some of the must-drink cocktails have got to be Fiery Passion and White Crest.

The former is a signature cocktail made from White Rum, Spiced Rum, Fresh Passionfruit, Lime, Lemongrass and Vanilla. It is a refreshing tipple for hot summer nights with lively hints of passionfruit and lemongrass.  The zesty lime also nicely balances out the overpowering taste of rum, without being an overkill.

Fiery Passion, S$18.

White Crest is a perfect blend of Aged Rum, Spiced Rum, Jamaican Rum balanced out by the sweetness of Orgeat Syrup and Guava. Last but not least, it is topped off with the Coconut Meringue – giving your libation an added texture.

White Crest, S$18.
Scorpion Bowl (Serves 2-4 pax), S$55.

If you’re heading out for a wild night out with your squad, this potent cocktail may just do the trick. The intoxicating medley of Vodka, White Rum, Jamaican Rum, Overproof Rum, Honey Spiced Syrup, Pineapple, Orange and Lime in Scorpion Bowl ensures that the buzz will kick in in no time.

It is little wonder Aloha Poké is a happening hotspot where party revellers and foodies alike, gravitate to.
