Fuel up for the day with grab-and-go food options with the launch of first vending machine cafe at a train station in Singapore.
Chef-in-Box Vendcafe at Ang Mo Kio station offers a selection of over 90 food and drink options, is open daily from 7am to 11pm, and meals are priced below $6. Commuters and residents can expect a range of cuisines from local favourites such as fried carrot cake and nasi lemak, to international options from Thailand, Japan, Spain and Italy.
The vending machine at Lakeside MRT station will open next week.
The facility only accepts cashless payments such as Android Pay, Apple Pay, contactless credit cards and transport cards such as EzLink and NETS FlashPay.
Vendcafe at Ang Mo Kio station is the second such cafe in Singapore. The first vending machine cafe was launched at the void deck of Block 320C Anchorvale Drive last August, as part of a year-long pilot project from Spring Singapore and the HDB.
Operated by JR Vending, the company behind the vending machines, Vendcafe caters to the fast-paced, on-the-go lifestyles of busy Singaporeans.
As part of the expansion, here are 10 new dishes added to the menu.
