The prata bread is not only crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. Hot Seafood Platter, $86++

Revel in the scenic view along Singapore River at the alfresco dining area outside Fremantle as you sink your teeth into a tantalising spread of Hot Seafood Platter ($86++). Talay Thai

The Thais are known for their creativity and it shows in the alcoholic tipples at Talay Thai. Thai-jito ($28 for 2 pax) is a creative lychee and rambutan concoction with a unique spin on a classic Mojito – the drinks are served in old-school tingkat. If you find yourself more of a Thai milk tea person, Thai-chai ($12++) is the go-to drink for you.

Seafood lovers won’t be able to resist the delectable Grilled Platter ($46++) at Talay Thai, especially with three dipping sauces – chilli, seafood and satay – and each enhancing the smoky flavour of the meat. The platter presents an exciting seafood party of grilled ribeye with jaew sauce, grilled prawns with spicy tamarind glaze, grilled oysters with nam jim dressing, grilled chicken brochette with peanut sauce as well as thai-marinated char-grilled squid with nam jim dressing.

Xiao Chen Gu Shi

$10++ for white rice, 2 sides (braised peanuts and salted vegetables) and a bowl of bak kut teh.

As you take in a waft of the peppery aroma of the Bak Kut Teh soup, everything else fades into nothingness. Xiao Chen Gu Shi has some of the best and most value-for-money Bak Kut Teh set.

The set comes with rice and other essential and delectable side dishes such as Braised Peanuts and Fried You Tiao. Even if your children aren’t in the mood for Bak Ku Teh, their slow-cooked Braised Trotters will pander to even the pickiest taste bud common amongst children.

Paulaner Clarke Quay

Bavarian Sausage Platter, served along various dips, $16++

Even with kids in tow, Paulaner Clarke Quay is one destination you mustn’t miss, particularly with their weekend-only brunch menu. Bavarian Sausage Platter ($26++ for 1 pax) and Pretzel Hotdog ($16++) make pretty good brunch fuel, especially with their tasty and succulent sausages.

You also won’t go wrong with a German specialty – Crispy Pork Knuckle ($23++ for half, $35++ for whole) that is served alongside tangy sauerkraut, enhancing the flavour of the meaty pork knuckles.

Need to satiate your smoothie fix? Paulaner Clarke Quay has just the perfectly sweet Strawberry Booster Smoothie ($10++) for you. If not, just grab yourself a pint of fresh and crisp Hefé-Weissbier beer ($18++ per pint) from the bar.

This specially formulated Da Miao Hot Pot oil helps diners to digest the hotpot meal while doubling as a condiment.

This June, there are even more reasons to hit up Clarke Quay as the International Champions Cup (ICC) draws near. ICC Singapore will feature English Premier League winner Chelsea FC, German Giant FC Bayern and Italian FC Internazionale in a round-robin three-match tournament.

Prior to ICC, Clarke Quay will be hosting “Football in the City” family carnival on two Sundays.
