Michelin-Starred Tsuta Opens Second Outlet in Singapore

Rejoice, ramen lovers! Tsuta, the first ramen eatery ever to receive a Michelin star in 2016, is opening a second outlet in Singapore, after its successful first outlet at Pacific Plaza.

The 18-seater Tai Seng outlet will prepare 250 bowls of soba each day, with prices, kept affordable starting from $15 per bowl. Apart from serving up the ever-popular Shoyu Soba, the new outlet features the exclusive Miso Soba only at Tai Seng.

As it was my first Tsuta experience, I opted for the crowd favourite Char Siu Ajitama Shoyu Soba, along with a cup of cold Wheat Tea. Served before my soba arrived, the Wheat Tea turns out to be a refreshing palate cleanser which I enjoyed sipping throughout my meal. Priced at $1.80 a cup, it was a healthier choice compared to many artificial-flavoured green teas.

I admired the cosy ambience of this 18-seater restaurant. When my meal was served on the table, the aroma of the flavourful broth was amazing. The noodles had a chewy mouthfeel, but the broth was a little saltish for me. The char siu are sliced from the pork collar, which means lesser fats and more lean meat.

If you ever find yourself around Tai Seng, do check out Tsuta. This restaurant is housed in a new shopping mall, which opened in February this year.
