Facebook today announced the launch of Instant Games on Messenger and Facebook News Feed.
Singapore is one of the 30 countries selected for this initial launch and other countries include United States, Sweden, Australia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Instant Games is a new feature that enables cross-platform gaming directly within the Facebook platforms that people love. This gives users a new way for people to discover share, and play games with friends on Messenger or directly on their News Feed. Users can play a game within seconds on mobile or desktop without having to download or install a new app.
Games you can play include classics likePAC-MAN, EverWing, SPACE INVADERS, TRACK & FIELD 100M, Galaga, and many other Instant Games.
Instant Games on Messenger, which can be accessed through the new game controller icon just below where people type a message, offers a fun and social experience featuring score-based games, leaderboards, and group thread conversations to challenge and compete against anyone on Messenger. Instant Games can also be played on Facebook News Feed, enabling a seamless cross-platform experience where people can discover new games through recommendations, posts, challenges, and the Facebook Pages of individual games. A dedicated Instant Games bookmark is also available on Facebook where people can view and instantly replay all their favorite titles they previously enjoyed across both platforms.
This gaming experience is currently available for iOS v8 or later and Android v5 or later.
