Club Med Bali

Bali, has one of the beautiful beaches and a spectacular ocean view. I had the opportunity to visit Club Med Bali recently. Located at Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia, Club Med Bali is a family wellness holiday destination that is rich in Balinese culture.

Club Med is famous for their signature premium all-inclusive package, taking care of all your holiday needs at a singular destination with its family-friendly facilities at the resort. So what is included in the Club Med premium all-inclusive package?

Flights & Transfers

Bali is just a two and the half hours or slightly more flight away from Singapore with the option of many airlines flying there. Book your flights with Club Med and get your transfers included.

Upon arrival, you will get a warm welcome from the friendly Club Med G.Os. Club Med resort staffs are known as G.Os (Gentil Organisateurs / Gentle Organisers) and guests are addressed as G.Ms (Gentle Members).

The multi-national and multi-cultural G.Os come from all over the world and I’ve come to learn during my short stay there that they are a talented and energetic bunch with each having multiple roles to play in the resort.

Besides briefing you on the facilities and activities of Club Med Bali, the first thing the G.Os will do is to help you wear the Club Med Bracelet in which you have to ensure that you keep it on throughout your stay at Club Med Bali. The Club Med Bracelet helps the G.Os identify you as a guest and enables you to get drinks at the bar. This also helps them to control teenagers from consuming alcohol.

Accommodation

The Club Room with Balcony overlooking the quiet garden on the second floor that I was staying at. A welcome note, programme and a limited edition Club Med 88 T-shirt (that was oversized) prepared for me, for the dress code for one of the evenings.

Stay in accommodation of refined comfort with 3 categories of rooms to choose from – Club, Deluxe & Suite. Rooms come with basic amenities such as television, hair dryer, security safe, mini fridge, kettle, mineral water & clean towels restocked daily and Wi-Fi access (which is also available at most parts of the resort). Connecting rooms are available for families who want to stay close to each other. Room service breakfast is available for Suite accommodations.

Gourmet Food & Open Bar

All meals of food & drinks from the restaurants & bars at Club Med Bali are included in the package.

The Agung

The Agung is the main restaurant at Club Med Bali where you will have most of your meals, breakfast, lunch & dinner. It has three dining sections with different interior design and an outdoor section so you won’t be tired of eating at the same dining setting for all your meals and it serves buffet, all you can eat gourmet food with local and international cuisine.

The variety of food changes every day, for every meal so you won’t get tired of eating the same things over and over again. In fact, there were so many things to eat that I have to plan my stomach space for every meal or else I won’t be able to try everything I wanted to. Indonesian cuisine is a must try and since I was already in Bali, I made it a point to look out for a local dish every day.

Plastic cups and food trays with different colored parts for balanced meals provided at The Agung restaurant for the kids.

The Deck, Gourmet Lounge

The Deck, Gourmet Lounge is Club Med Bali’s new luxurious, fine dining restaurant overlooking the beautiful Bali sea view. It has an a la carte menu of local Indonesian flavors and seafood for late breakfast, lunch & dinner.

You can choose to dine indoors or al fresco decking at the water’s edge at The Deck, Gourmet Lounge but I wouldn’t recommend that as it can get quite hot in the day. If you don’t like the crowd and would like a more romantic setting for dinner in the evening, try dining here but just an advice, dinner reservations and ordering of fish specialties and seafood should be made one day in advance to avoid disappointment.

The Deck, Gourmet Lounge also comes with a bar.

The Kintamani

The Kintamani is Club Med Bali’s main bar, it is an all-day bar that offers a wide selection of drinks and snacks for in between meals. As night falls, music continues and the partying starts as you enjoy the transitioning of colorful lighting at the main bar.

Club Med has created such a safe environment for children and kids are never left out. There’s even a Kid’s Corner where kids can order Bali Kids Cocktails with no alcohol at The Kintamani main bar.

There’s also The Beach Bar (Tupai Tupai) by the beach and The Zen Bar at the Zen Pool.

Kids Club

Kids below 4 years old stay for free at Club Med Bali with a Baby Club Med (from 4 months to under 23 months), a Petit Club Med (from 2 to 3 years old) and babysitting services, all if you need at an extra cost.

There are activities for kids of all ages from 4 to 17 years old with a Mini Club Med (from 4 to 10 years old) and a Junior Club Med (from 11 to 17 years old). Parents can take a break and allow their little ones to experience fun and educational activities under the nurturing guidance of trained G.Os. The activities give the young ones the opportunity to new experiences and allow them to make new friends. Parents may relax and spend some private time together with ease knowing that their children are in good hands under the safe supervision of the G.Os.

Activities

Not just for the kids, there are many activities to do for the adults too and all at no extra cost. Learn a new sport like Tennis, Squash or Golf where the equipment and tuition is available at the Club House. How about doing Yoga or Pilates at the Gym & Fitness Centre? I managed to try out snorkeling. There are other watersports such as Windsurfing and Kayaking. Try out Archery and the must try Flying Trapeze. There’s something for everyone!

With so many options of things to do, it is always good to check out the daily activities schedule available at the self-help Information screens so you can plan your time well when you are there and it comes in many different languages.

Entertainment

Just when you think there isn’t much to do after dark at the resort, Club Med Bali has got you covered again. There is a different show performed by the G.Os every evening keeping you entertained. Yes, you heard that right, shows performed by the G.Os. It isn’t just to get a few people to do an act or do a little dance, every show is of substantial quality and standard. I don’t know how the G.Os do it when they have to work in the day and perform in the evenings considering they still have to rehearse for the performances. One evening it is a Theatre show, another evening it is a Circus Show and another, a Trapeze Show.

I like Club Med Bali for doing little touches for the G.Ms like this Glass Drop box that you can find around the resort. Consumption of drinks doesn’t have to be constrained in the bar, you can enjoy your drinks and bring them around the resort. Once you are done, just find one of these Glass Drop boxes and place your empty drink glasses in there.

Club Med Bali offers resort facilities and services fit for all members of the family looking for a fun-filled getaway, couples seeking a romantic retreat or a group of friends traveling together. Most importantly, guests get to enjoy true quality time with their loved ones and having me time, knowing that everything is safe and taken care of.

The Club Med premium all-inclusive package is stress-free, fuss-free, freeing you the hassle of planning trip details. It is value for money for everything that is included and keeps your vacation budget under control.

I forged a lot of new friendships and definitely had a memorable experience staying at Club Med Bali. 🙂
