The first work trip since I joined Alvinology Media was a trip to Kuala Lumpur to host two events for a client. It was a short trip and being my first official work trip, I didn’t know that it’s really just lots of work and little fun. Ha! And because the boss knows its going to be lots of work and need me to be connected around the clock, he recommended me to get a Wifi router from Changi Recommend. Of cos, the boss knows best right?
Thanks to this small little black box, I was able to stay connected anywhere I went during this trip.
The flight to KL on Jetstar was smooth and traffic towards the KL city was alright during our arrival. But we surely didn’t expect to take an hour just to get from our hotel to the event location. Thanks to trusty GRAB app, we didn’t have any problem transporting ourselves around KL during the trip.
For this trip, I checked into Traders Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. And was blessed to be given a room with the best view in the house. View in the day and in the night, both so beautiful!
Traders Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, is a four star hotel which is perfectly situated within the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC). It is managed by the Shangri-La group and owned by Malaysia’s global oil and gas giant company, Petronas.
Check-in area is on the same level as their main dining restaurant Gobo, where you can chit-chat, meet and eat.
The room was cosy and hardness of the bed mattress was just right for me. This is so important especially when traveling for work, the only think you want to when you head back to the hotel at the end of the day is to shower and snooze. And that’s just what I did!
I spent all my waking hours snuggled up in my bathrobe sitting at the small but comfy work area in the room. Because well, work trip right? So one has got to still get work done even when traveling.
This was the other area in the hotel where I spent time lazing and just getting work out of my mind when I needed a break. The bed would have been too distracting and I would have just dozed off to la-la-land if I laze in bed.
Thanks to the club lounge access, I was able to hold one of the meeting with my client at the club lounge where we get to sip coffee and bite on some fruits before we head out for our event.
And whenever I travel to Malaysia the one thing I confirm look forward to is the breakfast spread, because everything also can eat. The spread at Traders Hotel, Kuala Lumpur didn’t disappoint. I had my breakfast, lunch and tea break all in one seating that day. HA!
The one thing I regretted not having time to do was to get a dip in their pool. The pool deck is also where the Skybar is located. This place is so different in the day and night.
The quietness and calm in the day is overtaken by neon lights and pumping music come night. A beautiful scene still and can you spot reflection of the twin towers?
What’s a party without finger food and drinks?
SkyBar is open from 10:00am to 1:00am, Sunday to Thursday, and from 10:00am to 3:00am, Friday, Saturday and the evening before public holidays. For further information and reservations, please call the hotel at (60 3) 2332 9911 or send an e-mail to skybar.thkl@tradershotels.com.
