The Music Run by AIA, returns to rock Singapore’s shores this April

Get ready to run, dance and party as the world’s loudest fun run, The Music RunTM by AIA, is back! And this year, it is going to be louder and more heart-thumping than before as it brings the beat back to Singapore on 23 April 2016 at Sentosa.

I will be joining the run this year with a group of friends. Do come and join in the fun too!

Back for its second edition, The Music Run by AIA is a 5k fun run that puts music at the heart of the experience. Over 120 concert quality speakers pumping out over 150,000 watts of music will line the running course, known as ‘The Sound Track’, across five interactive and music themed zones – Rock, Pop, Old School, Hip Hop and Dance.

Since it began in 2014, this phenomenal music and fitness wave has been winning fans the world over, from Los Angeles to Bangkok, Hamburg to Singapore. From four events in four countries with 35,000 runners in 2014, The Music RunTM is slated to hit 40 cities in 18 countries this year and experienced by over 350,000 participants, aka Music RunnersTM, making it one of the fastest-growing fun run events.

“While most fun runs originate from the US, The Music Run started in Asia and expanded throughout the region before crossing over to Europe and the US in the last two years. The reason for its massive success is its winning formula that combines music with the ever-growing fitness craze into the ultimate running and music festival that also puts control of the run’s soundtrack in the hands of our Music Runners,” said Ben Pember, Executive Director of Exceed Sports & Entertainment.

Highly immersive and interactive, the music experience starts from the moment participants sign up for the run. Participants get to decide the music that they want to listen to during the run by voting online for their favourite hits using a bespoke music selection app created with digital music partner, Spotify. The songs with the most votes make the official soundtrack of the run.

Non-stop action with unique pop-up activations

At the event, the fun begins even before the run as Music Runners can chill out at the mobile WOOBAR by W Singapore Sentosa Cove or get their hearts pumping with a game of foosball at the Chill out Zone. Official Fitness Partner, Fitness First, will be leading the warm-up to ramp up the excitement level!

As Music Runners make their way across the 5k running route, they will be treated to interactive activities in each Music Zone, each one specially designed for this year’s event.

First stop on the route will be the AIA Rock Zone filled with fun photo moments with Harley Davidson bikers. Next, a psychedelic Candyland theme awaits Music RunnersTM at the Pop Zone with giant candy pops and bubble machines. Music RunnersTM then experience more selfie and wefie moments in the Old School Zone with pop star lookalikes and doppelgangers of old school bands and singers, and unleash their creativity on the Graffiti Wall at the AIA Hip Hop Zone before flashing their megawatt smiles at the DJ Deck photo booths in the W Dance Zone.

This year’s event will also feature a Silent Disco, where Music Runners can continue dancing to a live DJ set through wireless headphones while a giant bouncy slide situated in the Music Village will provide some good old carnival fun with a jump and slide combo!

Local and international music acts to helm stage at The Music Run by AIA

This year, Music Runners can dance and party to live performances at the ultimate after-run music festival by local and international music acts including popular local band The Sam Willows and rising Australian DJ Sam Withers, who helms the DJ deck at The Music RunTM globally and shared the stage with renowned DJs such as Hardwell, Martin Garrix and Chuckie!
