Let’s forgo the carbonated drinks and popcorns for once and indulge and sip some premium Twinings tea while we chill out at the Cathay Platinum Movie Suites. Movie goers can choose from a range of premium Twinings tea.
At a media and Twinings fan session, we had the chance to taste some different tea-mixture (think bubble tea without the pearls) and got to learn a little more about the brand and their new large-leaf tea collection.
With more than 300 years’ experience of blending and sourcing tea, Twinings introduced the new Large-Leaf Discovery Collection.
Created by the passion and flair of the Twinings Masterblenders, the collection of 8 new and unique blends is designed to take tea lovers on a journey of discovery to experience new superior large-leaf teas and infusions that will delight the senses. Each mouth-watering blend has its own story to tell and combines the finest large-leaf teas and ingredients, presented in premium silky pyramid bags, which best displays and releases the beautiful contents, sensuous aromas and flavour. Each silky pyramid bags are made from premium transparent material and are individually enveloped.
If you enjoy a good cup of tea, read on to find out more of what Twinings have got to offer in their 8 new blends of tea.
London Strand Earl Grey
A sunny twist on the original Earl Grey. Black China tea scented with a blend of traditional bergamot with a twist of other citrus notes and real lemon peels. In this blend they have added a sunny twist of citrus flavours and lemon peel to the deep, black China tea and bergamot flavour blend, creating a bright tea that whispers your day back to life.
Brew for 2 or 3 minutes in just-boiled water. With or without milk.
Golden Tipped English Breakfast
Golden tipped Assam, for a strong and bold depth of flavour and a rounded body. Their Masterblenders sought to create the perfect English Breakfast tea – a blend that is strong and bold yet with a refined, rounded body. A tea that sets you up for the day. The result is rich and malty, with a bold depth of flavour that you won’t find in your average bag.
Brew in boiling water for 4-5 minutes, or less depending on how you like it. Have it with milk, the English way.
Two-Seasons Darjeeling
Crisp, balanced and floral – a delightful blend of first and second flush Darjeeling harvests. Masterblenders have expertly blended the two harvests to create a light, perfectly balanced afternoon tea.
Brew in just-boiled water for 3 or 4 minutes. With milk or black.
English Rose Garden
Deep yet delicate China tea with rose petals for a charming floral note. A rose-flavour black tea, with a scattering of beautiful rose petals. However hectic your day is proving to be, it will bring a delicious summery pause to your afternoon.
Brew for 2 or 3 minutes in freshly boiled water and enjoy without milk
Pure Sencha Green Tea
The fresh and pure flavour of steamed large-leaf green tea. This blend is made from gently steamed large leaves of Chinese green tea. By choosing the best, freshest leaves – those that emerge during the first cool flushes of the Eastern spring – their Masterblenders capture the pure essence of the mountain slopes where the tea grows.
Boil your water, let it rest. No milk please.
Budding Meadow Camomile
Rich, mellow, camomile with natural sweet notes. The best camomile evokes the essence of a summer meadow: floral, uplifting and with a breezy scent that calms the spirit. By using whole pollen heads their Masterblenders capture the sweet nature of camomile, creating a blend that carries you gently to the meadow of your imagination. A perfect infusion for moments of calm.
Brew in just-boiled water for 3 or 4 minutes.
Medley of Mint
The perfect blend of natural spearmint and peppermint for a refreshing, uplifting taste. When refreshment is the order of the day, a minty infusion is the drink of choice. With both Spearmint and Peppermint, their Masterblenders choose the very best mint leaves, from select summer harvests, each time picking just before the mint flowers bloom for maximum taste. The result is a delicious medley of refreshing and uplifting flavours, perfect at any time, day or night.
Brew for 3 or 4 minutes in just-boiled water and enjoy.
Golden Caramel Rooibos
Caffeine-free, rich Rooibos with a hint of sweet caramel flavour. Rooibos from the Cederberg and Olifantsrivier mountains of South Africa’s Western Cape is delicious in its own right. But our Masterblenders sought a way of enhancing the sun-dried needle’s naturally rich depth of flavour. And they found a delicious one: a hint of caramel flavour. So now we have an indulgent, caffeine-free tea with just the right level of sweetness.
Brew in fresh, boiling water for 3 – 4 minutes. Enjoy with or without milk.
So will you give tea a try the next time you catch a movie at Cathay Platinum Movie Suites?
