Have you heard of 1933?
Located at the newly opened Capitol Piazza in the City Hall area, 1933 is the latest F&B concept by the BreadTalk Group. The menu at 1933 seeks to recreate a taste of Nanyang, the colonial name of Singapore, bringing us back in time to savour the flavours of Singapore in the 1930s.
Great effort is put into achieving a balance of Asian and Western flavours for a unique Southeast Asian regional style to reflect the Nanyang identity of migrants in the 1930s that adapted to Western influences.
Diners can look forward to hearty soups served in bread bowls to all-time Singapore favourites like Hainanese Kampong Chicken Rice, Grilled Pork Loin, Fish & Chips, or salads and side dishes.
For beverages, 1933 boasts a range of milkshakes each served with a generous scoop of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream as well as specialty coffees brewed with Torrefacto coffee beans served in expresso style.
There is also a good selection of freshly-baked breads and tasty tarts, direct from 1933’s ovens, perfect for those who love a simple yet satisfying high tea after shopping nearby.
As Singapore celebrates it’s 50th birthday this year, what better way to celebrate SG50 by enjoying a meal at 1933 for a walk down memory lane?

It's my birthday soon and I would love to treat myself and my husband to a great dinner at 1933 !!
Liked both 1933 & Alvinology FB pages!! And even shared this post on my FB timeline!
Ron Lim I want to bring you go 1933 Restaurant for lunch because my friend specifically told me that their Summer Spring Roll is very nice and they really use real crabmeat which makes the dish really yummy!! And I also want you to take a good look at the whole newly renovated Capitol Theatre & Plaza which is called Capitol Piazza now. A great place which a Singaporean can call our SG50 heritage building. Cheers!!
I would like to win this lunch to share with my best friend Evelyn Tan as we are both foodie lovies and definitely would savour the chance to try the dishes at 1933!!
I want to try Nanyang Curry Chicken (S$14.90) which looks so delicious from the picture above.
