JBL Synchros Reflect earphones a godsend for all gym hitters

This might sound like a hyperbole, but it really isn’t. Back when I was a witless and wired gym-hitter, my workouts were punctuated by unnecessary breaks trying to get the wire out of the way.

The JBL Synchros Reflect earphones come with earpieces of different size to suit your ears.

Enter JBL Synchros Reflect wireless earphones, a slick, waterproof, and Bluetooth-ed piece of technological beauty. The idea of connecting Synchros Reflect to my phone was daunting for a tech-idiot like me. But it turned out surprisingly easy. And quick. Once connected (to my iPhone 5s), a battery icon for the wireless earphone appears. It’s great because you can tell how much battery’s left, approximately how much longer I can use it, and when I should charge it.

You can see the battery level for your earphones just by looking at your phone.

The connection was choppy the first time I paired my devices, collapsing when I put some distance between them. Subsequent pairing, however, was faster, smoother, and much tighter, even when I strayed farther than usual. The mobility and freedom to move as I please was much better compared to being wired to my phone.

The earphones stay put in any position.

The earpieces fit perfectly, so comfort was not an issue. The silicon buds are detachable, and it comes in three sizes: small (for normal human ears), medium (ears on steroids) and large (Shrek). For the most part, the sound exceeded my expectation for earphones. The makers did not forfeit substance for style. My music boomed smoothly, and the base was distinctly audible. The use of the small control pad is easily decipherable, but since I was connecting the Synchros Reflect to my phone, I controlled the volume and song choices from there. Like most sports earphones, it’s sweat and water resistant, making suitable for use when running, slaying iron, or pretending to look sporty. (Yes it’s true, a sports earphone instantly pumps up your street cred in the gymnasium.)

Here’s what’s cool; magnets line the heads of of earphones, allowing you to wear it like a necklace. But a bit of research on the net revealed what I first thought was an iconic feature of Synchros Reflect, was, in fact, a feature for most wireless earphones. But whatever, still cool.

The earphones do not need to be connected to any device.

Infrequent connectivity issues notwithstanding, when full range of motions are concerned, working out while tethered physically to a phone (or MP3) restricts actions. For a long time now I’ve been wrapped up in strings (or cables, same difference.) But now I’m free. There are no strings on me. That’s right. Ultron branded this earphone with his approval.

Wearing it like a necklace.
