[GIVEAWAY] Why Fuji Xerox’s DocuPrint printers are perfect for the home office and small businesses

Recently, Rachel and I got the new Fuji Xerox’s DocuPrint M265z for our home use. We also tried out the new DocuPrint CM225fw. The M265z is in monochrome while the latter prints in colour. DocuPrint M265 z is a laser printer, while the CM225 fw adopts the Self-Scanning Light Emitting Diode (SLED) printing technology.

Because of the perceived lower cost, smaller build and easy availability, most households still use inkjet printers for everyday printing. We were using an inkjet all-in-one inkjet printer with scanning functionalities before we made the switch.

Why switch from inkjet to laser printers?

Here are seven good reasons why the Fuji Xerox’s DocuPrint printers will be perfect for your home office or small business use:

1.

Competitive Pricing

The starting price of the DocuPrint series is just S$219 for a DocuPrint CP115 w SLED colour printer and just S$129 for a DocuPrint P225 d monochrome laser printer. Yes, they are within the S$100 t0 200 bracket! The prices are approaching that of the inkjet printers or even lower these days.

2.

Savings on Large Volume Printing

Inkjet ink is more expensive than champagne. Switching to laser and SLED printers like the DocuPrint series will save a lot of costs in the long run if you are printing large volume of documents. Moreover, Fuji Xerox’s cartridges are very competitively priced.

In addition, the new DocuPrint models of M225 / 265 include a separate toner and drum cartridge so users only need to replace one component at a time. This means each component is used for its maximum lifespan, resulting in longer operating times and cost savings.

Further cost savings can also be realised by using toner save mode, which extends the life of the toner cartridge by varying the density of toner that is printed on the page.

3.

Faster, Higher Quality Prints

If you are an inkjet printer user at home, I do not need to elaborate to you how noisy and slow the printing can be. The ink tends to smudge too and comes out unevenly in shades. Compare that with the bulky laser printer in your office which prints a thousand sheets rapidly, without smudging, with the printed words and images coming out crisp and clear.

The M265z can perform automatic double-sided printing, scanning and copying, helping to save time and paper usage. Rachel and I are very conscious of wasting paper with single-sided prints and this is a wonderful feature for environmentally-conscious folks like us.

It can also print at a fast speeds of 30 pages per minute. For the CM225fw, it can print 18 pages per minute for both monochrome and coloured pages.

Additionally, for the colour printers in the DocuPrint range like the CM225fw, the use of Fuji Xerox’s award-winning SLED (Self-Scanning Light Emitting Diode) and DELCIS (Digitally-Enhanced Lighting Control Imaging System) technologies enable them to deliver best-in-class print quality at 1200 x 2400 dpi (dots per inch).

4.

Small Size

The DocuPrint series of printers are designed for home use and small businesses. Hence they are relatively small in size, with good performance. After replacing the all-in-one I was using, the M265z did not take up much extra space except that it is taller.

5.

Print on the go, wireless

Both the CM225fw and the M265z comes with Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print. Both support Wi-Fi too. No more long, ugly USB cables hanging all over.

Set-up is really simple, with one-touch functionality and built-in networking capabilities:

I took less than 10 minutes to set up the M265z at home and less than 5 minutes to set up the CM225fw next!

Setting up the CM225fw was a breeze after I am done with the M265z - it's almost just plug and play!

Yes, it’s that easy and efficient when everything is wireless and you get to cloud print with your iOS or Android devices as well. You can now print directly from your mobile devices without having to download mobile apps or install print drivers.

Fuji Xerox’s 3-year warranty

Yes, three freaking years compared to the usual one year warranty. Fuji Xerox is the ONLY printer brand in Singapore with this offer.

Fuji Xerox places a lot of emphasis on after-sales service. The 3-year on site warranty includes drum replacement (worth S$200+; about the price of the printer itself as it is the ‘engine’ of the printer). This is especially useful if you are using your DocuPrint printer for some heavy duty printing.

Best of all, the warranty is for on site. This means you need not carry in the printer to Fuji Xerox’s service centre for repairs. They will come to you. I love this because I really hate taking leave or making rush trips during lunch time to go down to service centres during office hours.

7.

Extra perk at the upcoming PC Show (4 to 7 June) if you are an Alvinology reader

Fuji Xerox will be at booth number 6032 at the PC Show at the Singapore Expo Hall 6. For readers who purchase any printer at the show and quote “Alvinology” – you will get additional S$10 NTUC voucher on top of the other premiums, discounts and whatever other perks.

  1. Couldn’t agree more 🙂 I’m a laser printer convert too. Prints faster and provides long term savings, although the upfront cost is really too harsh on the budget 😀 Inkjets have cheaper cartridges but encourages you to buy more. Whether home or most especially office, this one is perfect!

  2. Tried quoting when buying a printer but all the staff that I asked about the promo said that there’s no such promo. 🙁

  3. Liked Alvinology FB page and also Asia 361 FB page!!!

I really need this DocuPrint M265z Fuji Xerox’s printer a lot because i can use it for work & personal at home!! It helps to make my printing fast and clear!!!! The BEST PART & features I love & craze about M265z are:-
    1) It uses a separate toner and drum cartridge which maximize the lifespan of usage, which means I can use the printer longer and more reliable!!!
    2) Only brand in the market that comes with a 3-year warranty and includes on-site service. This is an very important factor when purchasing a consumer product.
    3) Can print via Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print functions which my iPad can transfer and print my files or documents seamlessly and wireless without any plugin cables!!!!

  4. Fuji Xerox’s DocuPrint M265z

    Liked & shared!
Hope i can win this awesome giveaway & give my son for his printing and artwork during his school use for his upcoming birthday present.

  5. Fuji Xerox’s DocuPrint M265z – both my husband and I work from home (he is currently teaching so imagine the paperwork and I am a writer) & we have a thirteen year old at home who always seems to have documents to print for school work and projects. This machine will work like a dream for us!

  6. Cp225w is good to use. But bad when changing cartridge.
First there are lack of supplies in shops. All the stores seems to be out of stock. And when trying to order from Fuji Xerox site, it requires a company information before they can draft a pricing.
So I resort to using oem from inkbow which end up getting my printer permanently stuck in a “insert cyan cartridge” status.
