Win a Free 1-Night Weekend Stay at Park Regis Singapore

“Come back to Sunrise and Sunset” – that is what the flagship Park Regis Singapore hotel encourages its guests to do.  Just relaunched after a S$3 million revamp over six months, the refurbished and swanky new Park Regis has a lot more than a stellar location in the Clarke Quay area to shout about.

First Impressions

The hotel entrance leads immediately to its two restaurants – Twenty3 Drink & Dine is a bar and lounge which serves up breakfast and Aussie fare, and Royal Pavilion which offers Cantonese fine dining.

The reception is on level three, allowing for a more relaxed and quiet check-in and check-out experience for guests.  Styled as a welcoming lounge, it features two iMacs free for guests to use and complimentary fruits for guests to grab.

The Rooms

The hotel’s general manager Jason Dowd, a native son of Down Under, said the hotel’s bed is its “signature experience”.  All 202 rooms feature a luxurious bedding package which includes lightweight, hypoallergenic ‘micro cloud’ pillows, with an extra four inches of “Simmons Beautyrest Convoluted Foam Toppers” specially designed to relieve stress, tension and pressure points.  The 100% Egyptian cotton bed linen even boasts a top-of-the-range 400-thread count.

The hotel is also thoughtfully equipped with soundproof doors and carpet, which means you would get your peaceful rest at night.

Colours, in the case of the Park Regis, refer to a lush purple theme and warm timber accents found throughout the hotel.  There are four room categories- the standard room is of either Park or Merchant class (hint: go for Merchant, which faces outward and offers a great view of the surrounding Singapore river and pubs).

Each of the eight Quay rooms open directly to the pool area with its own private alcove.  All rooms are open-concept, feature an open sink area and floor to ceiling windows, and offer complimentary wifi and digital newspapers.

The best rooms are the Regis class, the most spacious of all. Rooms offer a dining area, balcony and capsule coffee machine.  If you get one of the coveted three rooms where the lounge is al fresco, essentially a balcony that offers a great view of the bustling Clarke Quay nightlife below.

Amenities

For fitness buffs, Park Regis offers a 25-metre outdoor swimming pool with a cascading waterfall. I loved the fact that the deck chairs were immersed within the pool, not alongside it.  Both the swimming pool and the adjacent gym are open from 6.00 am to 10.00 pm.

There’s also a rooftop bar on the fourth floor, which was still in the works when we visited, but will be ready soon.

Come Back to Sunrise and Sunset

In tandem with Park Regis’ “Come back to sunrise and sunset” marketing campaign theme, from April through December 2015, guests are invited to get a taste of its hospitality with an exclusive room package that offers themed sunrise and sunset activities.
