Are You the New Taipei City Traveller?

How does a free all-expenses-paid trip to New Taipei City sound to you? If that is not enticing enough, what about an additional cash prize of S$5,000 on top of the free trip?

To promote New Taipei City as a tourist destination for Singaporeans, Taiwan-based airline carrier EVA Air has launched an inaugural online contest called “Are You the New Taipei City Traveller?”. The contest, which ends on 10 April 2015, simply requires you to upload a short video clip of no more than 15 seconds on why you want to visit New Taipei City onto Instagram and hashtag #ILoveNewTaipeiCity or #我爱新北市 in your post. Yes, it is THAT simple.

As the Singapore face of New Taipei City, the Traveller, aka the winner, will get to experience all that New Taipei City has to offer and get to experience life as a local. He or she will also be required to share the adventures and experiences online by posting his/ her thoughts on a blog and social media platforms. The travel period for the winner is from 15 to 28 May 2015.

New Taipei City is the most populated city in the country and located in northern Taiwan. Some of the popular places within New Taipei City include Jiufen (九份), Tamsui (淡水) and Pingxi (平溪). The city is widely known for its scenery and as a popular place to release sky lanterns.

Now, to reiterate, here are the four steps to enter the contest:

Step 1: Take your mobile phone and set it to video mode.

Step 2: Take a video (no more than 15 seconds long) and say why you want to go to New Taipei City.

Step 3: Upload the video to Instagram.

Step 4: Hashtag #ILoveNewTaipeiCity or #我爱新北市.

As easy as ABC. Go on, do it now.

Visit the EVA Air Facebook page for more information on the Terms & Conditions for “Are you the New Taipei CityTraveller?”.
