Have you noticed that the more we move, the happier we feel? That’s why we jump for joy and run around in excitement!
Coca-Cola’s Movement is Happiness initiative aims to show how daily movement can pave the way to emotional wellbeing and happiness. The initiative is an ongoing initiative to find fun ways to build more movement into our lives. Partnering with the Health Promotion Board this year, Coca-Cola seeks to share happiness with those who have forgotten how good it feels to move.
Movement is Happiness initiatives in Singapore include:
Sundays @ the Park – a collaboration between Coca-Cola, the Health Promotion Board and Centre for Fathering to encourage families and friends to get active in our local parks. Singaporeans can visit parks across the island and enjoy a morning of classical childhood games spin-offs, free–play games and group workouts. The lists of sessions can be found on the official Coca–Cola Singapore site or on the HPB site.
‘Move Happy” Facebook App – Partnering with Spotify, Coca-Cola created a “Move Happy” app which allows users to create personalised music playlists for our everyday activities.

Beyond physical health, a lack of movement has been found to negatively impact people’s emotional well-being. Researchers from Pennsylvania State University found in a 2012 study of 190 youths that those less physically active reported less feelings of excitement and enthusiasm compared to those more physically active. On the contrary, regular exercise and movement have been proven to spur the release of endorphins and other feel-good chemicals in the body.
I attended the Coca-Cola Movement is Happiness Picnic the previous weekend at Downtown East together with my family. It was raining when we got there and the organisers had to shift indoor. Nonetheless, Asher had fun drawing his own kite and playing with the hula hoops.
To do my part to spread the movement, I will be giving out two sets of Coca-Cola Movement is Happiness gift packs. Each pack consists of the following:
To win, simply leave a comment on this blog stating what Movement is Happiness means to you. I will picked two winners by 30 November, based on the best replies. Remember to submit your email address so I can contact you (your email won’t be visible to the public).
25 Dec update – Congratulations to Jess Koh and Julian Chow. Each of you won a Coca-Cola Movement is Happiness gift pack each!

Having a good lifestyle and good positive mind lead to daily happiness and wellbeing. chueimei@gmail.com
Being able to live each day as though it's the last day and appreciate and view every little thing that happens in our life positively regardless good or bad. :)
My pregnancy does not come smoothly, in between there is lot of hiccup. Lucky my daughter able to grow up happily and healthily. Everyday without fail, she will kiss me and hug me before she heading to school and before goes to her bed. Although is a simple movement, but we treasure every moment we are being together; never take things for granted.
Movement = Freedom, and to me that is one of the basic tenets and rights that we have has humans, the freedom to do whatever we choose. Never take our freedom for granted, I say.
