Actress Hayley Woo soars to Guinness World Record

New record highs were set in the finale of iFly Singapore’s charity initiative and reality series So You Think You Can Fly.

The five contestants – Randall Tan, Hayley Woo, May, Dr Jia Jia and Munah.

In a thrilling two hour spectacle, actress Hayley Woo beat four other celebrities in a series of rounds to clinch the title of champion.

She won $10,000 in cash and $5,000 worth of iFly Singapore Flight vouchers that will be donated to her charity – Club Rainbow Singapore.

Hayley, along with Randall Tan, May, Dr Jia Jia, and Munah were put through five rounds that tested their dexterity and wit.

In rounds 2 to 4, they had to do basic calculus while keeping their bearings.

But it was Hayley who swept her competition away after impressing the judges and audience with her flight and calculus skills.

She also set a Guinness World Record of “Most number of horizontal 360 degree spins in one minute” in the wind tunnel by completing 26 successful turns.

Speaking after her win, she said, “I am delighted to be able to donate the $15,000 worth of cash and prizes to Club Rainbow (Singapore). It is a tremendously important cause and I am honoured to play even the smallest role in helping them out.”

Dr Jia Jia also had something to cheer about.

The others did not walk away empty handed as well.

YouTube star Dr Jia Jia was crowned the social media winner, winning $2,000 in cash and $5,000 in flight vouchers. He will be donating his cash prize to three charities, namely Children’s Cancer Foundation, Save Our Street Dogs and World Vision Singapore.

Randall Tan, Munah and May did not walk away empty handed as they too received flight vouchers worth $5,000 for their selected beneficiaries – Singapore Cancer Society, Happy People Helping People and Lupus Association Singapore respectively.
