Yesterday at City Square Mall, MAGGI challenged more than 100 consumers to finish a bowl of new MAGGI 2-Min Extra Spicy Curry Noodles to prove that they can sizzle with the hotness!
I was among those who took to the challenge, together with two other bloggers:
MediaCorp Artiste Ian Fang was on-hand to spice up the event and cheer participants on as they battled through a bowl of noodles to be rewarded with S$100 worth of Nestlé products. It was a heated affair as sweat dripped down participants’ heads and facial reactions to the spice level ranged from furrowed eyebrows to cringes.
“I am honoured to be a part of MAGGI’s Can You Handle the Hotness? Challenge as I am a big fan of MAGGI noodles. I mean, who doesn’t love MAGGI Mee? MAGGI has taken my favourite curry flavoured noodles and turned it up a notch to pack an extra punch in this new extra spicy curry flavour. The best part is, the noodle portion is bigger than regular MAGGI 2-min noodles so it’s more filling and is more than enough for a satisfying meal. MAGGI 2-Min Extra Spicy Curry Noodles are really for everyone as they will please both MAGGI noodle fans as well as spice lovers!” Said Ian Fang.
During the event, I was invited up on stage with Ian and a group of his most loyal fans to complete the Can You Handle the Hotness? Challenge on stage:
The MAGGI 2-Min Extra Spicy Curry Noodles really stood up to its name. The spice level of the noodles took me by surprise as the spice hits you immediately after you’ve taken the first mouth. Halfway through the bowl, I was already sweating profusely but it was just so ‘shiok’ that I was determined to finish the noodles to the last drop. By the time I finished, it felt like I had eaten a complete lunch. I think it’s about due time that spicy noodles finally hit the spot and live up to its spice declaration.
If you are interested to try it for yourself, MAGGI 2-Min Extra Spicy Curry Noodles are available at all leading supermarkets including Cold Storage, FairPrice, Giant, Sheng Siong and Prime for a price of S$3.45 for 5x103g packets. MAGGI 2-Min Extra Spicy Curry Noodles come with a larger noodle portion of 100g and are flavoured with extra spicy MAGGI curry seasoning.
A simple addition of fresh vegetables and meat will make it a complete and filling meal.
