Singapore has been experiencing strong wind lately. Even when the sun is shining brightly, it is still pretty cool, making it perfect for kite-flying.
If your child is bored at home, why not head down to Marina Barrage for some outdoor fun?
Built across the mouth of the Marina Channel, the Marina Barrage creates Singapore’s 15th reservoir, and the first in the heart of the city. With a catchment area of 10,000 hectares, or one-sixth the size of Singapore, the Marina catchment is the island’s largest and most urbanised catchment.
Lately, it has become a popular weekend haunt for family crowds and young Singaporeans.
Getting there is easy via public transport or car/ taxi. Parking is free, but note that there is very limited parking lots and the wait may take quite a while.
Other than kite-flying, there are a lot of other activities to do at Marina Barrage, including watersports and visiting the free Sustainable Singapore Gallery. More details are available via Marina Barrage’s official website. 🙂
