Singapore’s leading cinema exhibitor, Golden Village recently introduced Quick Tix – a tap-and-go system offering movie-goers the convenience of not having to stand in line at the box office to collect movie tickets.
The technology is not new, but this should be the first time it is being deployed in local cinemas.
I find this pretty nifty and extremely useful!
I hate queuing will definitely be using it in future when I purchase tickets:
Quick Tix is in operation across all GV cinemas and aim to boost productivity in cinemas as well as allow patrons to enter the theatre in a quicker, more efficient manner, particularly during weekends and blockbuster screenings.
Since its implementation, GV has seen an adoption rate of close to 20% at some of its location. With every transaction made, either through GV app iGV or online via the official GV website, an unique QR code will be sent to the customer’s email. This QR code can then be scanned directly at the usher counter to gain admission.
In addition, fourteen-year-old iconic GV Grand at Great World City was reopened on 15 Oct 2013, after a S$2.5 million revamp.
The renovated GV Grand boasts brand new seats, new carpets and drapes, a whole new Gold Class experience, a couple’s cinema called Gemini and luxurious recliners called The Grand Seats in its largest hall.
The new 30-seater Gold Class cinema at GV Grand now boast a revamped private Gold Class Lounge, with personalised butler service. The Glod Class cinema seats are all furnished with brand new seats with call buttons for faster services.
The 62-seater couple cinema, Gemini, features an exceptional layout where pairs of cinema seats are separated from one anther. Besides the added leg room, the Gemini also provides more privacy and comfort for couples to enjoy their movie.
