AirAsia Singapore celebrates its first flight into Krabi

Budget carrier, AirAsia, took off for Krabi, Thailand yesterday, direct from Singapore. The inaugural flight departed Changi Airport Terminal 1 in Singapore at 1.20pm GMT+8 on FD2321 and landed in Krabi airport at 1.55pm GMT+7.

For those who enjoy beach holidays, this should be a piece of good news.

Logan Velaitham, CEO of AirAsia in Singapore, Inthira Vutthisomboon, Assistant Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand (Singapore office) and Sirapussorn Vonpida, Marketing Officer of Tourism Authority of Thailand (Singapore office) were present to send off the maiden flight:

“Today marks an exciting day for us as we embark on our third direct route from Singapore to Thailand. Krabi is an attractive destination, particularly for the Singapore travellers because of its pristine beaches and wide spread of Thai seafood. We are increasing our market share in Thailand all for the benefit of our customers and we look forward to sharing more good news in the coming months,” said Logan Velaitham, CEO of AirAsia in Singapore at the sent off yesterday.

The inaugural flight was sent off with a beach-themed celebration at the departure gate where guests were offered drinks from a mocktail bar, hair-braiding services and airbrush tattoos. The activities were part of an experience to give guests a kickstart to their beach holiday in Krabi.

To celebrate the joy with customers, AirAsia is offering a special Krabi flight promotion:

Direct flights to Krabi are now going at only SGD 20* (base fare), one way, for travel from 1 December 2013 to 28 February 2014. The promotion is valid for booking from 25 November 2013 to 1 December 2013. 

AirAsia flies daily to Krabi, direct from Singapore. The airline offers the earliest flight into Krabi from Singapore; at 1.20pm GMT+8, compared to the existing carriers flying the same route. This earlier timing will allow travellers more holiday time when they land at Krabi.

Travellers can also fly domestic from Krabi to Chiang Mai and Bangkok via AirAsia.
