I had lunch at C-Jade HK Café IN at Bugis+ with Rachel, Asher and my parent-in-laws and sister-in-law a few weeks back.
The menu is very colourful and looked promising.
C-Jade HK Cafe IN is local Chinese restaurant chain, Crystal Jade‘s forage into Hong Kong-style Cha Chan Teng. Food at Crystal Jade has always been pretty good and of a certain standard. Hence we had high expectations when we visited this restaurant.
Prices at C-Jade HK Cafe IN were really cheap, with many menu items below S$10. Food-wise, everything tasted bland and boring. The only saving grace was their beverages and the signature Crispy Macau Pork Chop Bun (澳门奇脆猪扒包, S$4.80).
If you visit C-Jade HK IN, just go there for drinks and chit-chat with friends. The ambience is not too bad with pretty good service. Just do not expect good food.
I find the name C-Jade HK Cafe IN trying too hard to sound hip and young. Same with Bugis+. When you put the two names together, the awfulness is amplified a hundred times.
Then again, maybe my family and I are not their target audience as the menu and food seems to be catered towards teenagers.
