Thanks to the nice folks from Get Singapore and CYC The Custom Shop, I had my first custom-made Alvinology shirt tailored at CYC’s Palais Renaissance outlet back in January.
The shirt is still serving me well and is one of my favourite wardrobe item.
CYC The Custom Shop is where the most revered man in Singapore, Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew gets his shirts tailored. From what I heard, a lot of Ministers and other high profile individuals are also CYC regulars.
Fancy getting your own FREE CYC The Custom Shop tailored shirt too?
Good news: CYC has just launched a new “Design your custom-made shirt” Facebook App on their Facebook page. In tandem with the launch of this app, CYC is also running a contest where 3 users with the best designs every 2 weeks will win a $150 CYC voucher! At the end of the contest, the 3 designs with the most number of likes will also win a $150 CYC voucher each.
Here’s how the app works, via CYC:
It is an app that allows users to design their own shirt by selecting their choice of fabric, collar, cuffs, front placket and buttons, as well as the ability to add contrasting trims to many parts of the shirts. The benefit of this app is so that users can visualise uniquely designed shirts that they may potentially want to buy. It also allows them to unleash their creativity. All fabrics and shirt styles available on the app are available in all our stores, so using the app allows the users to visualise their shirt before they have it custom-made.
I had fun creating my submission. It reminds me of my experience customising a shirt at CYC. Of course, nothing beats the real-life experience of having a CYC consultant guide and advise you through the whole process with their full range of fabric, cuts and other options. Nonetheless, the app gives a simplified online experience. Oh, and trust me… the app is strangely addictive! I am going to create another shirt design now.
