omy.sg turns THREE – Giving away 3 x ASUS tablet netbooks!

omy.sg turns THREE!

Plugging for omy.sg. 🙂 Time really flies, I have already been with omy.sg for more than three years now.

It took a while, but we have successfully built the portal from zero to one that enjoys a respectable viewership of over 10 million page views, generated by over 400,000 unique visitors per month. Some of our major milestones listed in reverse chronological order:

25 September 2009 – omy.sg wins three awards at the IFRA 8th Asia Media Awards 2009. 1) Best in Newspaper Website (GOLD) – www.omy.sg; 2) Best in Cross Media Editorial (GOLD) – www.omy.sg for coverage of the 2008 Beijing Olympics; 3) Best in Cross Media Advertising (SILVER) – www.omy.sg for a campaign with Bee Cheng Hiang for their 75th anniversary

18 July 2009
– Launched CLing (http://cling.omy.sg), a Chinese-learning media platform jointly presented by Business China and omy.sg, with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong gracing the event at Dragonfly, St James Power Station.

12 January 2009
– Organised the first Singapore Entertainment Awards (http://sgeawards.omy.sg) together with Lianhe Wanbao, Radio 100.3, UW (U-Weekly). The awards culminate to a mega celebration party at the Marina Bay Floating Platform Grandstand and was attended by 10,000 members of public with local and foreign stars including Show Luo (罗志祥), Raymond Lam (林峰)and JJ Lin (林俊杰)making their appearances.

30 April 2008
– Launched the first bilingual blog award in Singapore, Singapore Blog Awards. The award seeks to honour tireless “new age wordsmiths” who devote much time and energy in maintaining informative, regularly updated and innovative blogs. The trophy for the awards was designed by multi-disciplinary artist, Mr Tan Swie Hian and more than 1000 blogs registered to compete in the awards, garnering over 70,000 votes.

25 September 2007
omy.sg launched.

Think back three years ago, who would have thought a bilingual web portal  can achieve events of this scale and hit such viewership figures.

Self-flattery aside, the omy.sg team is also aware of the challenges we face ahead. Lots more works need to be done. Being in the new media industry means we constantly have to be at our toes to follow the latest trend and technological development. Most importantly, omy.sg could not have achieve anything without YOU, the readers, our lifeline.

Hence it is in this mood that we launch our third anniversary celebration to give away prizes to you, the reader. 🙂 More details are available below.

If you are a blogger, you can also put up a blog post like this to congratulate omy.sg on our birthday and we just might surprise you with a mystery prize
