Beef noodle is one of my favourite hawker food and I am happy whenever I get to enjoy a bowl of delicious, piping hot mixed organs beef noodle. The Hock Lam Street Popular Beef Kway Teow stall at Purvis Street is one of the stalls I quite like.
Rachel and I visited the stall a few weeks ago to satisfy my craving for beef noodle. We had not been to there for almost a year and I was looking forward to sampling the beef noodle there again.
The beef noodle is served served with crushed peanut and preserved vegetable. Best of all, they offer almost all parts of the organs which I enjoy. However, one thing that irks me is the pitiful portion. The serving is really small… probably only enough to feed a baby. The noodle is pretty costly for a hawker fare – prices ranges from around S$5 to S$7.
As Rachel was feeling a bit full, she only took a few mouthful from her bowl. I am not a big eater, but I gobbled up two large bowls and was still feeling rather hungry after that. An ideal portion is probably three large bowls for a normal adult.
Note that although the food is good (despite the pathetic portion), the service is extremely nonchalant and the place is relatively dirty, with wet, sticky utensils. It’s probably a place best suited for die-hard beef noodle fans like myself. 🙂

Will the stall owner demand you to remove your post despite whatever you said is so true, or else there might be legal hassle?
just kidding, lol.
hahaha. Is this review very negative? 🙂 I will still go there and eat lei.
这间牛肉面店要是我有经过,一定会去吃.
虽然价钱比一般还来得贵,可是物有所值.
