Chinese New Year partial eclipse

If you have missed the partial eclipse on Chinese New Year (26 Jan 2009), fret not, here a video uploaded by someone called starsoffyre:

“The video was taken through a celestron powerseeker 127EQ (127mm aperture). At maximum eclipse at 5:49pm local time, 79.9054% of the sun’s disc is covered by the moon. Unfortunately, clouds covered the sun after maximum obscuration and thus the video stops at that point. Also note that the image is inverted due to the telescope optics.”

The recording was done at the Singapore Science Centre and starsoffyre was a volunteer there on  the day of the partial eclipse. 🙂
