I went on board the Singapore Flyer early this year; not too long after it was officially opened on 11 February. I wanted to blog about it earlier, but I had problem uploading the photos from my Sony Ericsson K850i onto my MacBook (apparently, the phone is not Mac-compatible).
In any case, I recently bought a multi-card reader and was finally able to upload the photos . Pardon the poor quality as it was rather dark and my camera phone was unable to handle the poor lighting condition well (I forgot to bring my regular camera along as Rachel and I went there directly after work on a workday).
My evaluation of the Singapore Flyer – too expensive, over hyped and nothing more to see that you cannot already see from a hi-rise HDB flat. Seriously, $29.50 for a 20 minutes ride is rather steep isn’t it? I can watch three movies with change to spare for the same amount. Not to mention the ride was quite boring and monotonous with no accompanying narration or any other form of media presentation… there was a LCD screen in the cabin, but it was not utilised.
I doubt I will ever sit on it again, unless I am given complementary tickets for corporate functions. Then again, I presume the Flyer is targeted at tourists and not locals like me. Maybe for tourists unfamiliar with Singapore’s cityscape, they will enjoy the ride and view more. 🙂

we just got one of those things in brisbane a few months ago. it's just a smaller version of the london eye and it doesn't get many customers. ours is AU$15 for about the same time. they seem too expensive for the time and entertainment you get for your money unfortunately but if you're a tourist it might be fun.

Stuck for 6 fcuking hours. I can't believe this. I won't even step my feet in Singapore even if you pay me. Who knows, maybe the walls will fall down or bridge collapses. Singaporean engineers, shame on you.... I thought NUS and NTU are world class,... seems like world class my feet!!
