Lately, there have been a lot of media coverage and public attention on the high profile defamation case, squaring off opposition politician, Dr. Chee Soon Juan and his sister, Chee Siok Chin, with Prime MinisterLee Hsien Loong and his father, Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew.
Dubbed as “Chees vs Lees” on the Internet, the defamation case has attracted much interest in the online sphere.
So much so that the Singapore Democrats website (the official website of the Singapore Democratic Party, helmed by Dr. Chee Soon Juan) claims to be experiencing a “website overload” on their homepage:
“Dear readers,
We are currently experiencing difficulties with our website because of an unusually high volume of visitors. We have decided to temporarily switch to using this static page to keep you updated on the news. We will revert to our original page when we have resolved the problem.”
Wow. This was probably Dr. Chee’s intention from the start I guess. To get people talking – both in the physical and online sphere.
Time to upgrade server lah.
