I went with Rachel a few hours ago to Marina Bay to see the fireworks for the countdown to 2008. Leon was supposed to join us too, but we were unable to contact him when we were there. Maybe network failure bah.
Surprisingly the area was not as congested as I had anticipated. I guess this is due to the opening of many new shopping malls – each with their own countdown parties, dispersing the Singapore population evenly across the island.
We had a wonderful time watching the beautiful fireworks display. It was worth the while making the trip down to Marina Bay in spite of the crowd.
For the benefit of those who did not manage to make it and those who had purportedly shunned the event to avoid crowd, we recorded the entire fireworks display to share with everyone:
Happy New Year!
I hope 2008 will be a meaningful and rewarding year for everyone. 🙂
