2007年最具代表性的汉字!

Cast your vote for the most representative Chinese character for year 2007! Click HERE for more details. This voting exercise is jointly organised by Radio 1003, omy and MyPaper.

The winning word last year was “惜” – the beginning of 2006 went well, but the flood in Singapore, the earthquake in Taiwan and bombings in Bangkok, amongst other tragedies and disasters in the later part of the year, reminded us to be appreciative of what we have.

What do you think the winning character this year will be?

height=315

My personal choice is the character “涨” – petrol prices are up, GST increased to 7%, Ministers’ pays are up, civil servants’ pays are up, Comfort DelGro raised their taxi fare, price of flour went up… even the inconspicuous Ma Ling luncheon meat went up in price! :p
