The Purple Symphony Returns in 2026 with “Around the World: A Dance Edition” Celebrating Inclusion, Music and Movement

The Purple Symphony Annual Concert 2026 returns with a vibrant new theme titled “Around the World: A Dance Edition”, presented in collaboration with the Central Singapore Community Development Council. The concert brings together more than 100 musicians with and without disabilities in a celebration of talent, inclusion and shared artistic expression.

Now in its 12th edition, The Purple Symphony continues its mission of promoting accessibility in the arts while showcasing the musical growth of its performers, some of whom will be stepping into soloist roles for the first time. This year’s edition introduces energetic dance inspired staging and interactive participation segments, inviting audiences to experience music in a more immersive and engaging way.

The concert programme spans a wide range of musical styles, from classical compositions and folk traditions to modern rhythms, each arranged to highlight movement, energy and rhythm inspired by dance from around the world. Organisers say the performance is designed not only as a concert but as an invitation for audiences to enjoy music in a lively and expressive setting.

Beyond the stage performances, The Purple Symphony 2026 also marks a new chapter in its community outreach efforts. The orchestra is expanding its performances into diverse community settings, following recent collaborations that include a first of its kind performance with the Singapore Prison Service Performing Arts Centre Band. These initiatives reflect the ensemble’s continued commitment to inclusivity and engagement through music.

Audiences attending this year’s concert can also look forward to an interactive foyer experience at the Esplanade Concert Hall. Activities include commemorative postcards, Instagram friendly photo spots and audience participation installations designed to encourage support and connection with the musicians.

Presented as a celebration of movement, colour and sound, “Around the World: A Dance Edition” aims to bring audiences on a global musical journey that encourages joy, expression and togetherness.

The Purple Symphony Annual Concert 2026 will be held on 18 and 19 June 2026, from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM at the Esplanade Concert Hall, located at 1 Esplanade Drive, Singapore 038981. Tickets are available via SISTIC, priced between 20 and 40 dollars.
