Pokémon TCG Celebrates 30 Years with Global Launch of New 30th Celebration Expansion

The Pokémon Company has announced Pokémon Trading Card Game: 30th Celebration, a special commemorative expansion marking 30 years of the Pokémon franchise. The new expansion will be available at participating retailers worldwide from 16 September 2026.

Designed as a tribute to three decades of Pokémon, 30th Celebration will be the first Pokémon TCG expansion to launch simultaneously across participating global markets. Additional related products will also be released throughout the year as part of the anniversary celebrations.

The expansion introduces several notable features, including the return of fan favorite classic cards and an entirely foil card lineup. Players and collectors can also look forward to a brand-new rarity category known as Futuristic rare. These cards will showcase vivid and imaginative artwork created by acclaimed Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN, portraying Pokémon in visually striking scenes that reflect optimism and possibilities for the future.

Each 30th Celebration booster pack will contain one of 30 unique foil Pikachu cards, with every card illustrated by a different artist. The set will also feature new Pokémon cards depicting various creatures across different moments of the day, capturing scenes from both daytime and nighttime settings.

Adding to the nostalgia, the expansion will bring back 30 classic Pokémon cards from different eras of the trading card game’s history. Each returning card will receive a special foil treatment, offering longtime fans a fresh way to revisit some of the most memorable cards ever released.
