RISIS Celebrates 50 Years with Jubilee Capsule Series and Cultural Orchid Gala

This year marks a milestone for RISIS, Singapore’s iconic jeweller, as it celebrates its Golden Jubilee. Since 1976, RISIS has stood as a symbol of Singapore’s craftsmanship and creativity, and the 50-year anniversary sees the brand not only honouring its heritage but also exploring new expressions of Singapore’s cultural identity.

Jubilee Capsule Series: 50 Years in Bloom

To commemorate the occasion, RISIS unveils its Jubilee Capsule Series, a five-month celebration of artistry and design. Featuring 50 natural orchid species, the series takes inspiration from the original 1976 brooch and evolves the Orchid motif into contemporary jewellery and lifestyle creations. The series unfolds in five chapters, each representing a facet of RISIS’ journey: Roots, Innovation, Splendour, Imagination, and Symphony.

Roots (April): A Tribute to Heritage

The opening chapter, Roots, celebrates RISIS’ origin, showcasing delicate orchids preserved in 24K Swiss Gold and Palladium. Each bloom’s natural markings are immortalised, creating one-of-a-kind pieces that capture the beauty of Singapore’s national flower.

RISIS x Janice Wong: Wearable Blooms You Can Savour

Highlighting the celebratory spirit, RISIS collaborates with local award-winning pastry chef Janice Wong. Limited-edition Orchid Charm-Brooches, featuring Cattleya and Doritaenopsis Summer Red Orchids in gold and palladium, are paired with artisanal chocolates in plant-derived colours. These collectible pieces, priced at $398 and $368, are ideal for Mother’s Day gifting.

The Journey Continues

  • Innovation (May): The orchid motif is reimagined in contemporary jewellery, scarf rings, and statement belts.
  • Splendour (June): Celebrates Peranakan heritage, fusing intricate lattice work and filigree with the orchid’s elegance.
  • Imagination (July): Whimsical garden motifs come to life, featuring butterflies and bees, 24K Swiss Gold Barbie collectibles, and moissanite-set atelier pieces.
  • Symphony (August): The series culminates in RISIS’ first venture into horology, with Art Deco-inspired timepieces and diamond jewellery, blending tradition and innovation.

Asia’s First Cultural Orchid Gala

RISIS extends the jubilee beyond jewellery with the Cultural Orchid Gala, envisioned as the “Met Gala of Orchids.” The landmark event brings together designers, artists, and philanthropists, spotlighting Singapore’s cultural and botanical excellence. The gala will feature:

  • Red-carpet arrivals and pre-Gala experiences highlighting Singapore’s heritage.
  • A celebration of craft, orchid diplomacy, and creative innovation.
  • Fundraising for Garden City Fund (NParks) and United Women Singapore, promoting biodiversity and community engagement.

The gala is set to position Singapore as a premier destination for global travellers, sustainability advocates, and cultural enthusiasts, combining elegance, philanthropy, and artistic storytelling.

A Legacy Beyond Orchids

The RISIS Jubilee is more than a celebration of orchids. It is a tribute to Singapore’s heritage, creativity, and identity, inviting creators, patrons, and the community to contribute to a shared cultural legacy. From preserving the nation’s botanical stories to shaping new creative expressions, RISIS continues to inspire generations, proving that the best way to honour the past is to innovate for the future.
