International stage icon Lea Salonga is set to take on the role of Madame Thénardier in the highly anticipated Singapore run of Les Misérables The Arena Spectacular. The production will be staged at the Sands Theatre from 24 March to 10 May 2026 for a strictly limited seven-week season.
Presented by Cameron Mackintosh in association with Nick Grace Management and Base Entertainment Asia, this large-scale arena version reimagines the beloved musical with a more cinematic and immersive staging.
Salonga is no stranger to the world of Les Misérables, having previously portrayed both Éponine and Fantine on Broadway. She also performed as Éponine in the landmark 10th Anniversary concert at Royal Albert Hall and as Fantine in the 25th Anniversary concert at The O2.
Beyond Les Misérables, Salonga is widely known for originating the role of Kim in Miss Saigon, earning prestigious awards including the Olivier and Tony Awards. She is also the singing voice behind iconic characters such as Princess Jasmine in Aladdin and Fa Mulan in Mulan.
Salonga joins a powerhouse international cast led by Gerónimo Rauch as Jean Valjean and Jeremy Secomb as Javert. Singapore’s own Nathania Ong will take on the role of Éponine.
Other key cast members include Red Concepción as Thénardier, Na-Young Jeon as Fantine, Will Callan as Marius, Lulu-Mae Pears as Cosette, Harry Chandler as Enjolras, and Earl Carpenter as the Bishop of Digne.
Conceived to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the legendary musical, this arena spectacular offers a reimagined take on Les Misérables, originally written by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, and based on the classic novel by Victor Hugo.
The production features enhanced staging, lighting, and visual design to deliver a grand, cinematic experience suited for large venues. Since its debut in the UK and Europe in 2024, the show has sold over one million tickets globally and toured more than 30 cities, breaking box office records in markets including Manila, Shanghai, Australia, and Japan.
Following its Singapore season, the production will return to Europe, including a stop at London’s Royal Albert Hall, before heading to Radio City Music Hall.
Performances will run from Tuesday to Sunday, with evening and matinee shows scheduled throughout the week. The production runs approximately 3 hours and 5 minutes, including a 20-minute intermission.
Tickets are available via Marina Bay Sands Ticketing, SISTIC, and Klook.
