HSBC SVNS Singapore 2026 Wraps Up with Thrilling Rugby Action and Unforgettable Family Festivities

The HSBC SVNS Singapore 2026, aptly dubbed the “Family SVNS,” concluded on a high note at the National Stadium at The Kallang, drawing an impressive crowd of around 40,000 fans, enthusiasts, and spectators. Over two action-packed days, attendees were treated to world-class rugby, engaging community programmes, and vibrant fanfare that transformed the stadium into a true festival of sport.

The tournament culminated in electrifying finals that crowned Fiji’s Men’s Team and New Zealand’s Women’s Team as champions. Fiji delivered a stunning comeback performance, scoring all 21 of their points in the second half to defeat 2024 Olympic Gold Medalists France, who managed 12 points. On the women’s side, New Zealand dominated the field, overpowering Australia with a decisive 36-7 victory to secure the championship trophy.

Elevating Rugby in Singapore

Beyond the headline matches, the National Stadium pitch also hosted the Ruck and Rumble tournaments, where aspiring rugby athletes showcased their skills on a global stage. The event underscored its commitment to nurturing local talent, featuring a range of youth initiatives designed to grow the sport in Singapore and create greater access for young players.

One highlight was the Singapore Rugby Union Schools U14 Sevens tournament, where Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) emerged victorious against St. Andrew’s Secondary School. The momentum continues beyond the SVNS weekend, with seven National School Games rugby matches set to take place at the National Stadium from 2 February 2026, featuring 13 competing schools. Additionally, the Singapore Rugby Union National League U15 competition kicks off on 7 February 2026, offering at least six games for junior athletes aged 8 to 11.

A Festival True to Its Name

Living up to its “Family SVNS” moniker, the event offered far more than elite rugby. The stands came alive with colourful costumes and lively celebrations, while the surrounding promenade buzzed with activities for fans of all ages.

Highlights included wheelchair rugby matches, meet-and-greets with beloved characters such as Peppa Pig, George, My Little Pony, and Optimus Prime, as well as interactive console gaming zones. Families could make use of the Kids Drop-Off Zone, unwind at the Beach Club with refreshing drinks, or enjoy family-friendly dining options from Meatsmith and Burnt Ends Bakery.

See You in 2027

Fans can look forward to the HSBC SVNS Singapore returning to The Kallang on 30 and 31 January 2027. Tickets will launch later this year.
