Perched high above the bustling streets of Novena, Sky22 at Courtyard by Marriott Singapore Novena is a hidden sanctuary for those seeking panoramic city views paired with a thoughtful dining concept.
We recently dropped by to experience their Harmonious Lunar New Year Semi Buffet Dinner, which runs on Friday and Saturday evenings from now until 28 March 2026.
For a starting price of a very reasonable ++ per person, the value proposition is immediately clear, especially given the quality of the spread and the elevated view from the 22nd floor.
The beauty of the semi buffet format is the balance it provides. You get the instant gratification of a salad bar and appetisers while waiting for a freshly prepared, substantial main course.
We started our evening at the cold seafood station, where the poached prawns were the clear star. These prawns were fresh, firm, and tangy, making it very easy to justify going back for multiple helpings.
For those who prefer a lighter start, the compact salad bar is surprisingly comprehensive. It is a dream for healthy eaters, featuring a wide variety of crisp greens, grains, nuts, and a diverse selection of house made sauces that allow you to customise your bowl exactly to your liking.
On the night of our visit, the soup station offered a comforting black bean chicken soup and a rich, velvety cream of tomato soup, both can be paired with their selection of artisanal breads.
For the main course, the menu offers a diverse split between festive Asian specials and Western comfort food.
We opted for the Claypot Lobster Golden Pao Fan, which arrived with a beautiful full lobster crowning the bowl.
The broth was lightly seasoned but deeply aromatic, elevated by a generous amount of scallions and fried ginger that provided a delightful spicy kick to the comforting rice grains.
We also sampled the Black Garlic Braised Wagyu, which featured tender beef cheek. The slow cooking process clearly paid off, as the wagyu was incredibly soft, tearing away effortlessly with a gentle pull of the fork. The earthy notes of the black garlic and miso glaze provided depth to the dish, which was served alongside smooth mashed potatoes and bright baby radishes.
While we stuck to the wagyu and lobster, the menu also boasts intriguing options like Samsui Chicken with its signature ginger scallion sauce and an Eight Treasure Fried Rice featuring luxurious additions like foie gras and cured meats.
If you are visiting with a larger group, you can also add on an Auspicious Salmon Yusheng for the table to keep the festive spirit alive, complete with smoked salmon, marinated octopus, and crispy fish skin for that essential crunch.
We rounded off the night at the dessert counter. The chocolate fondue is always a crowd favourite, particularly when paired with seasonal fruits and marshmallows. We also tucked into a selection of pudding, cakes, and ice cream.
With its stunning skyline backdrop and a compact but well curated menu, Sky22 is a recommended pick for a relaxed reunion or an intimate weekend dinner that is also friendly on the wallet.
