Shangri-La Singapore is pulling out all the stops for 2026 as we prepare to gallop into the Year of the Horse. This year’s lineup is headlined with a beautiful collaboration with contemporary artist Chen Fenwan. Her influence is seen in the intricate paper cutting art and revolving lanterns that decorate the festive offerings, symbolising the vitality and continuous flow of good fortune that the horse represents.
For those looking for the quintessential Cantonese experience, Shang Palace remains the crown jewel under the guidance of Executive Chinese Chef Daniel Cheung.
From 2 February to 3 March 2026, guests can indulge in six different set menus like the Imperial Indulgence or Golden Dynasty.
Each comprises eight courses, priced between $198++ and $888++. Highlights include Fortune Yu Sheng with Norwegian Smoked Salmon and Poached Lobster, Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, Braised South African Candy Heart Dried Abalone, Sautéed Lobster, Braised Bird’s Nest Broth with Conpoy, and Steamed Coral Trout, among other exquisite offerings.
The highlight here is the limited edition Auspicious Golden Horse Yu Sheng. It is a stunning, horse-shaped masterpiece that uses a vibrant medley of vegetables and pickles to create a work of art on a plate. At $268++ for a large group, it features a perfect pairing of smoked salmon and jellyfish.
If you prefer a more diverse spread, The Line is hosting opulent reunion buffets. Their Prosperity Yu Sheng features a zesty osmanthus citrus dressing that cuts through the richness of the seafood on ice. You can expect heavy hitters like Alaska King Crab and Hokkaido Scallops, alongside creative fusion dishes like Peking Duck paired with Foie Gras.
Meanwhile, The Lobby Lounge offers a nostalgic trip through Singapore’s culinary heritage with a Peranakan semi buffet, featuring Singaporean favourites like Bak Kut Teh, Hainanese Beef Noodles, Fish Soup from Whampoa Keng Fish Head Steamboat and Seabass with Assam Petai.
This is is available for lunch from 17 to 18 February 2026, priced at $88++ per adult.
For home celebrations, the takeaway collection is equally impressive. The Imperial Pen Cai is the pinnacle of the retail range at $1,588 nett and can serve up to 8 people.
It is a massive, umami laden pot slow braised with South African Candy Heart dried abalone, Japanese sea cucumber, and sun dried oysters.
Equally enticing is the Abundance Pen Cai ($538 nett, serves 8), a gastronomic masterpiece featuring over 18 carefully selected ingredients by Chef Daniel Cheung.
Experience the joy of the season with Shangri-La’s thoughtfully curated festive treats, designed to bring elegance and indulgence to your celebrations.
We had a chance to sample the new Salted Egg Yolk Pineapple Tarts which offer a bold, savoury contrast to the traditional version.
For traditionalists, opt for the buttery Original Pineapple Tarts ($57 nett, 16 pcs), filled with sweet, tangy pineapple for a quintessential Chinese New Year experience.
For something modern, the Yuzu Pineapple Tarts ($66 nett, 16 pcs) delight with a refreshing citrus burst that perfectly balances sweetness and tang.
Another highlight is the Jin Jun Mei Peach Resin Coconut Pudding Nian Gao ($89 nett, 900g). It comes in a gorgeous octagonal revolving lantern box featuring eight galloping horses, and you can actually light it up and rotate it for good luck.
Equally enticing is the Water Chestnut and Red Date Nian Gao ($45 nett, 900g), a vibrant fusion of colours and flavours.
The top layer boasts the delicate sweetness of water chestnut with added crunch from finely chopped pieces, while the bottom layer highlights the rich, natural sweetness of premium Xinjiang red dates. It can be enjoyed steamed or pan-fried.
For gifting, the Fortune Trio Cookies Gift Set (620g) at $86 is a great choice, featuring a curated selection of Molten Chocolate Cookies, Salted Egg Yolk Cookies and Truffle Sambal Prawn Roll.
Beyond the food, the hotel is offering a “Prosperous Getaway” room package starting at $399++ per night, which includes dining credits and a festive box of tarts for stays in late February.
Families can also join the Auspicious Horse Blessings Walk from 16 to 18 February, a guided evening journey through eight activity stations designed to bring harmony and wisdom to the household.
